What Causes Menopause?

The most common reason for menopause is the natural decline in a female's reproductive hormones. However, menopause can also result from the following situations:

Oophorectomy: This surgery, which removes a woman's ovaries, causes immediate menopause. Symptoms and signs of menopause in this situation can be severe, as the hormonal changes happen abruptly.

Chemotherapy: Cancer treatments like chemotherapy can induce menopause quickly, causing symptoms to appear shortly after or even during treatment.

Ovarian Insufficiency: Also called premature ovarian failure, this condition is essentially premature menopause. It happens when a woman's ovaries quit functioning before the age of 40 and can stem from genetic factors and disease. Only 1% of women suffer from premature menopause, but HRT can help protect the heart, brain, and bones.

Depression

If you're a woman going through menopause and find that you have become increasingly depressed, you're not alone. It's estimated that 15% of women experience depression to some degree while going through menopause. What many women don't know is that depression can start during perimenopause, or the years leading up to menopause.

Depression can be hard to diagnose, especially during perimenopause and menopause. However, if you notice the following signs, it might be time to speak with a physician:

  • Mood Swings
  • Inappropriate Guilt
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Too Much or Too Little Sleep
  • Lack of Interest in Life
  • Overwhelming Feelings

Remember, if you're experiencing depression, you're not weak or broken - you're going through a very regular emotional experience. The good news is that with proper treatment from your doctor, depression isn't a death sentence. And with HRT and anti-aging treatment for women, depression could be the catalyst you need to enjoy a new lease on life.

Hot Flashes

Hot flashes - they're one of the most well-known symptoms of menopause. Hot flashes are intense, sudden feelings of heat across a woman's upper body. Some last second, while others last minutes, making them incredibly inconvenient and uncomfortable for most women.

Symptoms of hot flashes include:

  • Sudden, Overwhelming Feeling of Heat
  • Anxiety
  • High Heart Rate
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness

Typically, hot flashes are caused by a lack of estrogen. Low estrogen levels negatively affect a woman's hypothalamus, the part of the brain that controls body temperature and appetite. Low estrogen levels cause the hypothalamus to incorrectly assume the body is too hot, dilating blood vessels to increase blood flow. Luckily, most women don't have to settle for the uncomfortable feelings that hot flashes cause. HRT treatments for women often stabilize hormones, lessening the effects of hot flashes and menopause in general.

Mood Swings

Mood swings are common occurrences for most people - quick shifts from happy to angry and back again, triggered by a specific event. And while many people experience mood swings, they are particularly common for women going through menopause. That's because, during menopause, the female's hormones are often imbalanced. Hormone imbalances and mood swings go hand-in-hand, resulting in frequent mood changes and even symptoms like insomnia.

The rate of production of estrogen, a hormone that fluctuates during menopause, largely determines the rate of production the hormone serotonin, which regulates mood, causing mood swings.

Luckily, HRT and anti-aging treatments in Pompano Beach, FL for women work wonders for mood swings by regulating hormone levels like estrogen. With normal hormone levels, women around the world are now learning that they don't have to settle for mood swings during menopause.

Weight Gain

Staying fit and healthy is hard for anyone living in modern America. However, for women with hormone imbalances during perimenopause or menopause, weight gain is even more serious. Luckily, HRT treatments for women coupled with a physician-led diet can help keep weight in check. But which hormones need to be regulated?

  • Estrogen: During menopause, estrogen levels are depleted. As such, the body must search for other sources of estrogen. Because estrogen is stored in fat, your body believes it should increase fat production during menopause. Estrogen also plays a big part in insulin resistance, which can make it even harder to lose weight and keep it off.
  • Progesterone: Progesterone levels are also depleted during menopause. Progesterone depletion causes bloating and water retention, while loss of testosterone limits the body's ability to burn calories.
  • Ongoing Stress: Stress makes our bodies think that food is hard to come by, putting our bodies in "survival mode". When this happens, cortisol production is altered. When cortisol timing changes, the energy in the bloodstream is diverted toward making fat. With chronic stress, this process repeatedly happens, causing extensive weight gain during menopause.

Low Libido

Lowered sexual desire - three words most men and women hate to hear. Unfortunately, for many women in perimenopausal and menopausal states, it's just a reality of life. Thankfully, today, HRT and anti-aging treatments Pompano Beach, FL can help women maintain a normal, healthy sex drive. But what causes low libido in women, especially as they get older?

The hormones responsible for low libido in women are progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone.

Progesterone production decreases during perimenopause, causing low sex drive in women. Lower progesterone production can also cause chronic fatigue, weight gain, and other symptoms. On the other hand, lower estrogen levels during menopause lead to vaginal dryness and even vaginal atrophy or loss of muscle tension.

Lastly, testosterone plays a role in lowered libido. And while testosterone is often grouped as a male hormone, it contributes to important health and regulatory functionality in women. A woman's testosterone serves to heighten sexual responses and enhances orgasms. When the ovaries are unable to produce sufficient levels of testosterone, it often results in a lowered sex drive.

 Hormone Replacement Pompano Beach, FL

Vaginal Dryness

Often uncomfortable and even painful, vaginal dryness is a serious problem for sexually active women. However, like hair loss in males, vaginal dryness is very common - almost 50% of women suffer from it during menopause.

Getting older is just a part of life, but that doesn't mean you have to settle for the side effects. HRT and anti-aging treatments for women correct vaginal dryness by re-balancing estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. When supplemented with diet and healthy living, your vagina's secretions are normalized, causing discomfort to recede.

Fibroids

Uterine fibroids - they're perhaps the least-known symptom of menopause and hormone imbalances in women. That's because these growths on the uterus are often symptom-free. Unfortunately, these growths can be cancerous, presenting a danger for women as they age.

Many women will have fibroids at some point. Because they're symptomless, they're usually found during routine doctor exams. Some women only get one or two, while others may have large clusters of fibroids. Because fibroids are usually caused by hormone imbalances, hysterectomies have been used as a solution, forcing women into early menopause.

Advances in HRT and anti-aging medicine for women give females a safer, non-surgical option without having to experience menopause early. At Global Life Rejuvenation, our expert physicians will implement a customized HRT program to stabilize your hormones and reduce the risk of cancerous fibroid growth.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis symptoms are much like the effects of PMS, and include pelvic pain, fatigue, cramping, and bloating. While doctors aren't entirely sure what causes this painful, uncomfortable condition, most agree that hormones - particularly xenoestrogens - play a factor.

Endometriosis symptoms are much like the effects of PMS and include pelvic pain, fatigue, cramping, and bloating. While doctors aren't entirely sure what causes this painful, uncomfortable condition, most agree that hormones - particularly xenoestrogens - play a factor.

Xenoestrogen is a hormone that is very similar to estrogen. Too much xenoestrogen is thought to stimulate endometrial tissue growth. HRT for women helps balance these hormones and, when used with a custom nutrition program, can provide relief for women across the U.S.

 HRT Pompano Beach, FL

Benefits of Sermorelin

Human growth hormone (HGH) therapy has been used for years to treat hormone deficiencies. Unlike HGH, which directly replaces declining human growth hormone levels, Sermorelin addresses the underlying cause of decreased HGH, stimulating the pituitary gland naturally. This approach keeps the mechanisms of growth hormone production active.

  • Benefits of Sermorelin include:
  • Better Immune Function
  • Improved Physical Performance
  • More Growth Hormone Production
  • Less Body Fat
  • Build More Lean Muscle
  • Better Sleep

What is Ipamorelin?

Ipamorelin helps to release growth hormones in a person's body by mimicking a peptide called ghrelin. Ghrelin is one of three hormones which work together to regulate the growth hormone levels released by the pituitary gland. Because Ipamorelin stimulates the body to produce growth hormone, your body won't stop its natural growth hormone production, which occurs with synthetic HGH.

Ipamorelin causes growth hormone secretion that resembles natural release patterns rather than being constantly elevated from HGH. Because ipamorelin stimulates the natural production of growth hormone, our patients can use this treatment long-term with fewer health risks.

When there is an increased concentration of growth hormone by the pituitary gland, there are positive benefits to the body. Some benefits include:

  • Powerful Anti-Aging Properties
  • More Muscle Mass
  • Less Unsightly Body Fat
  • Deep, Restful Sleep
  • Increased Athletic Performance
  • More Energy
  • Less Recovery Time for Training Sessions and Injuries
  • Enhanced Overall Wellness and Health
  • No Significant Increase in Cortisol

POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A surprising visitor has made itself at home in a Pompano Beach neighborhood, and residents are concerned about its proximity to their homes.

A crocodile has been spotted lurking in a canal near Northeast 19th Street and Northeast 28th Terrace, venturing out during high tide, possibly in search of food.

Cellphone video recorded on Sunday captured the reptile with its mouth wide open as it sunned itself on a dock.

7News cameras later captured the crocodile for the second day in a row as it swam in the same area.

Gina, who spoke with 7News on Saturday, said she couldn’t believe her eyes when she first noticed the creature in the water near Northeast 19th Street and 28th Terrace earlier in the week.

“The whole crocodile came out from underneath the dock during high tide, and the mullet went running, so he was maybe looking for some fish,” said Gina.

Concerned for her neighbors’ safety, Gina called 7News to alert the community. She said the crocodile has stuck around.

“He’s come up a few times there — was sunning himself, floating in the water,” she said.

“It’s just crazy,” said another resident.

This recent crocodile sighting follows another incident just last week when a crocodile was seen in the Atlantic near the Pompano Pier, leading to the temporary closure of the beach.

While it’s uncertain whether this is the same crocodile, residents like Gina are ready to see it move on.

“It’s scary with the high tide. We’ve got the king tide here, so he can climb up over the dock and get into anybody’s backyard,” said Gina.

High tides have raised fears that the crocodile could potentially climb over docks and enter residents’ backyards, prompting concerns for both human safety and the well-being of local animals.

“We just want everyone to be safe and all our animals to be safe,” said another concerned resident.

Residents are eager for a resolution to ensure everyone’s safety, and they hope the unexpected guest finds a new home soon.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) spoke with Gina, saying that they are monitoring the reptile.

As of Monday, the FWC said there are no plans to remove the crocodile at this time, but they will be conducting a site visit.

Anyone who comes in contact with the crocodile is urged to call FWC immediately at 888-404-FWCC.

A First Look At Waldorf Astoria’s First-Ever Standalone Residences In Pompano Beach, Florida

Developer Related Group, the powerhouse behind some of Florida’s most significant developments, and Merrimac Ventures are partnering with hospitality brand Hilton to launch Waldorf Astoria Residences Pompano Beach.

Through the partnership with Hilton, Miami-based Related Group, led by Jorge Pérez and his sons, Jon Paul and Nick, and Merrimac Ventures, helmed by Dev and Nitin Motwani, will help launch Waldorf Astoria’s first-ever purely residential tower. Not only is it Waldorf Astoria’s first-ever standalone residential project, but it’s also the first Waldorf Astoria flag in Broward County.

“Pompano Beach is unique in that it's a city that has all the infrastructure and amenities you want in your hometown, with close proximity to the excitement of Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Miami,” says Merrimac Ventures managing partner, Dev Motwani. “But it still has that quaint beach town vibe and energy that allows residents to relax and enjoy the sun, surf and sand like being on vacation all the time.”

Pompano Beach is located along the coast just north of Fort Lauderdale and will be home to other luxury developments in the near future, including a Ritz-Carlton-branded tower. Waldorf Astoria Residences Pompano Beach will be set on a two-acre oceanfront site with a 28-story tower housing 92 luxury residences, as well as a private 19-slip marina—a rarity in the region.

“We have been paying particular attention to emerging markets and where we see the Waldorf Astoria customer living and traveling,” Dino Michael, SVP and global head of Hilton Luxury Brands tells Forbes. “Our growth plan across luxury at Hilton is to keep our eye on the pulse of travelers and find destinations that are interesting in what they can offer in terms of landscape, amenities, food and beverage, and lifestyle. Pompano Beach is very much considered that type of growing market, poised to grow and rival neighboring locations like Miami and Fort Lauderdale as far as appeal to live and own a home.”

Standalone branded residential projects from luxury hospitality brands are nothing new, but Nick Pérez, president of condominium development at Related Group, tells Forbes they allow for more freedom and flexibility where the focus is purely on the residents, not an influx of temporary guests. This helped Related, Merrimac, and Hilton hone in on how they wanted to design the tower’s communal spaces, from the lobby to the hotel-like amenities. Residents will have full, private access to a 20,000-square-foot oceanfront pool deck with a lap pool; 200 feet of beachfront access; a beachside cafe; and wellness-focused amenities like a full-service spa, cutting-edge fitness center; and dedicated movement studios. Other amenities include a ground-floor restaurant, billiards lounge, children’s entertainment room, multi-sport simulator, and more.

Operating like a hotel, there will be pool-side service, a personal concierge, and in-resident dining. The property will also feature an assortment of museum-quality art from the world-renowned Jorge M. Perez Contemporary Art Collection. The project will be managed by Waldorf Astoria and will celebrate Waldorf Astoria’s illustrious history through many traditional nods that fans of the brand will immediately recognize.

“We spent months going over the history of the Waldorf Astoria brand, speaking with its brand ambassadors and visiting its top locations around the world—all with the goal of capturing every nuance, every subtlety, and every whisper of the brand’s timeless essence,” Pérez says. “One example I’m particularly proud of is the tower’s Peacock Alley. Built as a homage to the Peacock Alleys that grace many Waldorf Astoria properties around the world, this private, resident-only space will be the heart of the property. The resident-only space will also include an updated interpretation of the iconic Waldorf Astoria clock. The hotel brand has made it a tradition to incorporate a unique clock in each one of their locations and we were thrilled to honor such a well-known and beloved landmark.”

The world-class design is spearheaded by Nichols in collaboration with BAMO, Enea Landscape Architecture, and KORA. The floorplans will range from two- to five-bedroom residences varying in size from 2,100 square feet to 6,100 square feet. Only the best-in-class brands and features will be available, like Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, large balconies, and custom Italian cabinetry.

“The quality of design and amenities will be second to none, elevating the market and the type of resident coming to the Pompano Beach market,” Motwani says. “The level of service that will be provided by Waldorf and their team is really the differentiating factor, from the in-house concierge to the marina services and amenities, the project will really offer all of the enhanced lifestyle benefits of being a guest of a Waldorf Astoria, but in your own home.”

POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Dozens were out enjoying the warm water at the beach until they experienced shock from seeing a crocodile in a South Florida ocean.

Plenty of people decided to catch some sun on the sand in Pompano Beach on Monday when they spotted the reptile in the water near the pier.

Cell phone video caught the crocodile swimming closer to the shore.

“I saw a shadow and I thought ‘Man, what the heck?’ I ain’t ever seen a fish like that’,” said David, who was on the pier at the time.

On-lookers like David and others on the structure, saw the crocodile around 8 a.m. on Monday.

“His head about like this and you see his big ol’ snout,” David continued.

They shouted for swimmers to get out of the water when shortly after the “No swim” flags came up.

Pompano Beach Ocean Rescue made sure beachgoers stayed clear of the potential danger, while word of the spotting spread on-shore.

“That’s wild,” said one man. “I did see the video, I mean hey, this is their home, it’s expected. They’d be coming up to the people, people think it’s not true, but it’s true.”

One woman went down to see the action as soon as she heard.

“I came down to find it…” she said. “A little scary.”

Many heard about the incident but hadn’t seen the video yet.

“My God man, that’s bigger than me,” said another man.

Others couldn’t believe what they saw.

“Right here in Pompano? Come on, are you serious?” said another woman, reacting to the footage. “Oh my goodness.”

As the reptile hung around all day, enjoying the shoreline all to itself, some swore they’d never take a dip in the water again.

“With the crocodile? No more man, thanks for letting me know,” continued the woman.

Others felt validated for why they don’t usually dive in.

“Yeah I don’t really go in anyway, I just go in up to here,” a woman said as she pointed to her legs. “My husband goes in though, so he won’t go in today… We want all his limbs intact.”

A not-so-common spotting of a seawater crocodile had left an impression that would last a lifetime.

“I’ll never forget,” said David. “In any beach area, I’ve never seen one of these, I’ve seen alligators, just looked like a mini dinosaur.”

The “No swim” flag will remain up until the crocodile moves out of Pompano Beach, which experts said could take up to one or two days.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A historic chapel in Pompano Beach will keep its doors open and walls standing after officials ruled that the building will not be demolished.

The George Foster Chapel – located at 201 NE 2nd Street, just south of the main church – would be moved approximately 0.6 miles to Centennial Park, which is home to the Sample-McDougald House.

The structure was once part of the Christ Methodist Church, which was torn down so developers could make more modern residential towers in the area.

With so much demand for land in South Florida, it’s a sign of progress for longtime Pompano Beach residents like Jerry Bowman.

‘I’m just a resident who is passionate about history and preservation in this town,” he said.

Bowman, who has lived in Pompano Beach since 1960, reminded Local 10 News that the structure is one of the first churches in the city.

He says the church has been at that location since 1939.

The structure has an intimate, small chapel with original wooden floors and eight beautiful stained-glass windows that were donated by pioneer settler families who were involved in building the structure and its congregation.

Originally known as the first United Methodist Church of Pompano Beach, it was once the main Methodist church for residents up until 2007 when it later merged with Christ Methodist Church.

The historically significant building will eventually end up at nearby Centennial Park.

Once in place, it will continue to be used as a wedding chapel.

Pompano Beach residents say it’s important to keep tradition going for younger generations that will be able to get married there.

“It gives younger people coming up along and future generations an opportunity to be married in a wedding chapel that their families wedded in,” said Bowman.

The location was also home to the Sample McDougald House Preservation Society, which was moved about 22 years ago.

Developers said it took seven hours to move the preservation society and it’s now a museum located at 450 NE 10th St.

The McNab House — another historic home — was also moved three years ago. It now sits at McNab Park, about five blocks away from its original location.

The chapel is expected to be moved by the end of 2024.

A Pompano Beach warehouse could be partially demolished and expanded to help its existing tenants grow.

The city’s Development Review Committee will consider plans for the six-acre site at 200 Park Central Blvd. on Dec. 6. It currently has a 59,000-square-foot industrial building that was constructed in 1984. The property is owned by Pompano Beach-based 200 Park Central LLC, managed by Jeffrey Roschman.

Trending: County could approve $14 million toward affordable housing for veterans

Roschman is also a co-manager of three companies that are tenants in the warehouse: tennis and pickleball equipment manufacturer Diadem Sports, tattoo ink manufacturer Dynamic Color and aerospace manufacturer KAM Specialists.

Under the proposal, 28,700 square feet of the existing warehouse would be demolished and the property owner would construct warehouses of 62,484 square feet and 31,675 square feet. Each of the new warehouses would rise 45 feet tall. After completion, the project would have 124,459 square feet of industrial space.

The site plan indicates the existing tenants would remain on the property and use the new buildings.

Roschman couldn’t be reached for comment. The plans were crafted by Fort Lauderdale-based planning firm Scheffer Mote Ricks and Boca Raton-based Soderlund Architecture + Design.

Pickleball is a rapidly growing sport, so there’s likely been strong demand for Diadem Sports’ products.
