Mr. Mills brought the idea to the district 20 years ago and since then, has directed a show every year. “I wanted to create an opportunity for the students of Kenilworth to express themselves theatrically, while building, self-esteem and confidence on stage in front of a live audience. This opportunity creates lifelong skills and memories for these students. Very few elementary schools put on a performance of this magnitude. It is what I am passionate about, and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to work with our talented students for the last 20 years.”
Mr. Mills uses his creativity, talents and experience in theater to his advantage by making life-long memories for the students of Harding School. “One of my greatest joys is when students come back and visit me in high school and college and tell me that because of the plays we did at Harding School they followed their love of acting and theater throughout their school years. Being on stage builds confidence, self-esteem, and great communication skills. It gives students an opportunity to express themselves theatrically."

Harding Summer Assignments: It has been a few years since we have required summer assignments at Harding. Knowing the impact that summer can have on our children's academics, assignments have been coordinated through the Office of Curriculum and Instruction this year. While hard copies of assignments were sent home, please read the attached letter with a website link to details about the summer expectations, as well as extra copies of summer work and some great optional extension work. We hope you enjoy your summer as well as participate this great work!

Summer Reading: Read, Read, and Read! The best way to practice and increase reading fluency is to read. Be sure to take some time this summer to visit your local library. Try to encourage the habit of reading at least 20 minutes each day.
Student Chrome-books: 5th & 6th grade students held on to their school issued chrome-book over the summer. These students are expected to bring these devices back to school in September.
Teacher Assignments: The Parent Portal in Genesis is will be open at 3PM on Monday, August 21st to view teacher assignments. Please be sure to update contact & emergency information as well. Families will receive a welcoming letter in the next couple of weeks with specific classroom information. This does not apply to students that are attending the extended school year. Those medications/supplies will be discarded after dismissal on the last day of ESY classes if they are not picked up. Please note that all medication MUST be picked up by an adult.
Also, please remember that we are required to have new orders every September for the new school year. Orders are only valid for the new school year if they are written after the last day of the current school year and are completely filled by parents and the healthcare provider or they will not be accepted. There will be no exceptions.
If you are missing medical forms for health plans for medical conditions such as diabetes and seizures, allergy action plans, asthma action plans or medication forms for any other medications that will be needed at school, please go to the Kenilworth Board of Education website. Once there go to the Department tab and then click on the Nurses tab. On the left side of the page there is a drop down menu- hit the forms tab and access individual forms.

West Orange, NJ, November 15, 2022 – Maureen Harding, MSN, BSN, RN, Corporate Vice President, Nursing Operations at RWJBarnabas Health was recognized with the Philippine Nurses Association of New Jersey (PNANJ) Legacy Award for 2022 at the Annual PNANJ Gala and Awards Night on October 29, 2022 in Edison, NJ. The honor recognizes nurse leaders who have exemplified and achieved a lifetime legacy of service to the nursing profession and the community. The PNANJ is a non-profit professional organization that promotes the intellectual, cultural, social, economic, and personal well-being of Filipino nurses in the state.
“Maureen has made enduring and substantial contributions to the nursing profession, especially to the Filipino-American nurses in New Jersey,” said Nancy Holecek, Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, RWJBarnabas Health. “She is an incredible advocate for improving patient experience and creating future leaders in nursing, and her exemplary leadership and advocacy are an inspiration to all nurses.”
Ms. Harding assumed the role of Vice President of Patient Care Services in 1997 and most recently Vice President of Nursing Operations in February of 2021. Specializing in oncology nursing, she started her career with RWJBarnabas Health in 1991, with a nursing leadership role in the inpatient oncology unit at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, now Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC), and became instrumental in the development and expansion of the hospital’s Cancer Program. As a member of the system-wide nursing leadership team since 1997, she has held various positions, including interim CNO at Community Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center.
A strong supporter of the standardization of nursing best practices, including recruitment and retention, patient experience, leadership development and succession planning, she consistently spearheads the adoption of new initiatives and remains dedicated to improving patient care. Ms. Harding is particularly passionate about supporting and developing a pipeline of future nurse leaders, a special interest that has set up the RWJBarnabas Health System for success for many years to come, as the retention of top nursing talent will continue to positively impact patient care into the future.
Ms. Harding holds a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis on Leadership in Health Care Systems. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Organization of Nurse Leaders NJ (ONLNJ). Ms. Harding is a resident of Succasunna, NJ.
