The suburbs seeing the most growth are located in the southern and western regions of the US. According to a recent study by the US Census Bureau, counties in the South and West saw more people move in than move out between July 1, 2017, and July 1, 2018. Just consider Florida, which welcomed about 566,000 new residents in 2017 and saw a 4.7% year-over-year home value increase to $233,2oo in 2019.

Rising home values in Florida put their prices on par with the current US median home value, which has increased 5.4% over the past year to $226,800.
Business Insider teamed up with Zillow to find the 25 suburbs where median home values have grown the most from May 2014 to May 2019. Of those listed, 12 are located in Florida and three are in Georgia.

MIAMI (WSVN) - South Florida experienced a rainy Monday. There was barely a dry spot in town, and there may be more rain on the way.
Forecasters say the rain was here to stay throughout the week, and some locals didn’t mind.
“Because it’s a change, right?” said a local. “I’ve been waiting for some change in weather. It’s getting too hot.”
Monday night, the National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for northwestern parts of Miami-Dade until 11:45 p.m. and Southwest Broward County until 11 p.m.
Florida Turnpike, Tamiami Trail and Kendale Lakes are also on a flood advisory watch until midnight.
The wet weather started to swamp South Florida on Sunday, which has saturated some areas with at least two inches of water.
Downtown Miami was one of the hardest-hit areas, leaving many stranded and tow truck companies celebrating.
“The weather from Miami, I love it,” said a tow truck driver.
Miami Beach, Hialeah, Northeast Dade and Broward were all affected.
“It’s not recommended. If you see that it’s flooded stand back around,” said a man.
Water pumps were put to work around the city.
“We come to the beach to have a sunny, nice weekend,” said a visitor who now has to make alternate plans.
It was a washout for visitors who wanted to soak up the sun rather than dodge raindrops.
“And this weather is like, it’s not cold, it’s annoying,” the visitor said.
Wet weather likely played a role in a three-car crash along Interstate 95 near Ives Dairy.
If you have plans on leaving your house, make sure to bring an umbrella and avoid the following areas.
A driver was also affected by the rain Monday night after their car was stuck in a ditch in the grassy area along Pines Boulevard.
It is unknown if the driver was inside at the time.
The radar estimated Pembroke Pines received more than five inches of rain today.

This ceviche-focused restaurant at the Palms at Town & Country, from the team behind Bulla Gastrobar, serves up a bevy of Peruvian cuisine like papa a la huancaina (potatoes in a spicy cheese sauce), causas (Peruvian mashed potato casserole), lomo saltado (stir fry), and of course, plenty of ceviche. Those who can’t choose just one ceviche (there are seven) can opt for the sampler and try three of Pisco’s most popular options.
Now at its new location in the Palms at Town & Country, guests can feel transported to Napa Valley at this restaurant, wine bar, and bar. The brainchild of chef Adrianne Calvo, it showcases a variety of classic and not-so-classic dishes like slow roasted pork drizzled with guava sauce, 24-hour braised short ribs, and sweet corn tamalito with black tiger shrimp.
The doctor is in and serving Peruvian fare. Co-owner and chef Carlos Brescia is always conjuring up new spins on the cuisine of his native Peru. Menu highlights include tostones de cangrejo (fried green plantains topped with crab salad), jalea del mar (crispy seafood with cassava and tartar sauce), and Dr. Tokyo (tuna, pineapple, and hot limo pepper inside a fried wonton bowl). Much like a visit to the doctor’s office, expect a wait.
Chef Tommaso Penza brings Neapolitan fare to West Kendall. A staple in the community, patrons frequent Two Brothers for its bountiful pasta dishes and its thin and crispy pizza. Fan favorites include the carbonara, chicken parmesan, and, of course, the pizzas. Two Brothers also offers a free bottle of wine with the purchase of two entrees on Thursdays.
At this award-winning Indian eatery by chef Niven Patel, dine on dishes made with ingredients sourced from the Patel’s family owned farm in the Redlands. Expect a variety of unique curries, rice, vegetables, and grilled plates with the majority of the menu featuring vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, as well as a well-priced family-style tasting menu for those who can’t decide on what to order.
This popular sushi fusion spot has sashimi, sushi, rolls, and dishes hot off the robata grill like octopus and filet mignon. Also on the menu are soups, salads, and snacks (try the tostones with ceviche) served tapas-style along with sake, beer, wine, and cocktails.
A cozy, art-lined restaurant inside the Crossroads Shopping Center specializes in Italian fare with a Latin twist, like crab cakes with a tropical fruit sauce. The chef’s special is always worth checking out.

Charter schools often buy out their landlords in order to reduce operating expenses and take more control over property management and maintenance. In fact, AcadeMir bought out its western Miami-Dade campus in 2021.
