If you're ready to get back to loving your life with more energy, confidence, and positivity, medical weight loss with peptide therapy may be for you. But to truly understand the benefits of peptides like Semaglutide, it's important you grasp what peptide therapy is and how it benefits your body.

Semaglutide Treatment in Raleigh

Semaglutide Treatment in Raleigh, NC

Many individuals turn to peptide therapy to enhance their overall wellbeing by boosting hormones. Different types of peptides can target different areas of health, such as collagen peptides that can help improve skin, hair, and gut health.

Other peptides, such as AOD 9604, CJC 1295, and Semaglutide in Raleigh, NC, are incredibly beneficial for losing weight. Compared to vitamin supplements, peptide therapy works differently as peptides are already part of the proteins in our bodies, making them easier to absorb and benefit from. Conversely, our bodies can sometimes fail to absorb all the nutrients present in multivitamins, leading to their excretion through urine.

However, it's important to note that weight loss is a complex process that involves various factors like age, genetics, lifestyle, exercise, and diet. While peptides like Semaglutide can provide much-needed assistance in achieving your weight loss goals, they are most effective when combined with healthy dietary choices, regular exercise routines, and overall healthier lifestyle choices.

If you've already tried different weight loss plans and diets but haven't had any success, medical weight loss with peptide therapy may provide that extra boost you need to realize your goals.

What is Semaglutide Treatment in Raleigh, NC?

If you're looking to lose weight and keep it off, diet and exercise are important, but it can be difficult to stick to a routine. For busy adults and parents, Semaglutide can be a helpful tool for weight loss. This injection, approved by the FDA for diabetes and obesity, works by stimulating GLP-1 receptors in the brain to aid in weight loss and improve long-term health.

You may be wondering to yourself, "That sounds great, but how does this type of peptide work?" Semaglutide acts like glucagon in your body, which signals to your brain that you're full and don't need to eat anymore. When you take Semaglutide, and you try to overeat, your body waves a proverbial red flag as if to say, "That's enough."

Semaglutide also slows down digestion, reducing unnecessary snacking throughout the day. By reducing glucose spikes after meals, it reduces inflammation, which is important for overall health. Additionally, Semaglutide helps your pancreas secrete insulin, regulates the glucose levels in your body, and even has anti-aging and longevity properties. If you're struggling to lose weight, peptide therapies for weight loss like Semaglutide can be an invaluable addition to your weight loss plan from Global Life Rejuvenation.

What is Semaglutide Treatment in Raleigh, NC?

When combined with healthy lifestyle choices like diet and exercise, Semaglutide can help provide:

Semaglutide can help

Who Should Consider Semaglutide Therapy in Raleigh, NC?

There are multiple medications available to combat obesity by suppressing appetite and promoting weight loss. However, Semaglutide stands out as an exceptional option.

A recent study of 2,000 obese adults examined the effects of Semaglutide when combined with a diet and exercise program. The results were compared to those who only made lifestyle changes without taking Semaglutide. After 68 weeks, it was found that half of the participants using Semaglutide lost 15% of their body weight, with nearly a third losing 20%. In contrast, those who only made lifestyle changes lost an average of 2.4% of their weight.

It's obvious, then, that Semaglutide is a safe and effective supplement for your weight loss journey with Global Life Rejuvenation. But who is the ideal patient who should be taking it?

If you have a body mass index (BMI) of 27kg/m2 or higher and at least one weight-related condition, such as high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol, or if your BMI is 30kg/m2 or higher, the FDA recommends Semaglutide for weight loss.

Healthy Eating Tips While Taking Semaglutide

As medical weight loss experts, one thing our doctors and practitioners know at Global Life Rejuvenation is that true weight loss isn't dictated by medicines. It's achieved by sticking to a combo of exercise, healthy life choices, and healthy eating habits. From there, peptides like Semaglutide in Raleigh, NC are great for taking your weight loss efforts to the next level of success.

One area where many patients fail in this process is with their diet. If you're considering Semaglutide treatment, keep these diet tips in mind.

Eat Whole Foods

Eat Whole Foods

To enhance your dietary habits, a practical approach is to concentrate on consuming whole foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. These food items are rich in nutrients and can provide a feeling of fullness and satisfaction while also promoting your overall wellbeing.

Be Mindful When You Eat

Be Mindful When You Eat

Eating mindfully involves being fully present and engaged during meals. This entails taking the time to enjoy the flavor of your food, being aware of your body's hunger and fullness signals, and avoiding distractions like electronics or television.

Keep Your Body Hydrated

Keep Your Body Hydrated

To maintain good health and support weight loss, it's crucial to drink plenty of water. It's recommended to drink at least 8-10 cups of water daily. You may also try adding low-calorie drinks like herbal tea or infused water to keep things interesting.

Meal-Prepping

Use Meal Prepping to Your Advantage

Planning your meals in advance is an effective approach to maintaining a healthy diet. Set aside some time each week to plan your meals and snacks, keeping in mind to incorporate a balance of protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. This will prevent impulsive food choices and guarantee that you have nutritious options available when hunger strikes.

Other Peptide Therapies and Medicines for Medical Weight Loss in Raleigh, NC

Unlike many medical weight loss clinics, which only offer cookie-cutter weight loss plans and one or two additional fat-busting solutions, Global Life Rejuvenation provides access to new, innovative supplements and medicines. If you're used to fad diets and "quick" weight loss plans, peptides like AOD 9604 and others may be new to you. To help build your foundation of healthy living knowledge, let's take a look at a few of the most popular weight-loss peptides and medicines available at Global Life Rejuvenation.

AOD 9604 for Weight Loss

AOD 9604 for Weight Loss

Often combined with Semaglutide regimens, AOD 9604 is known to promote fat breakdown, inhibit lipogenesis, and support tendons and cartilage. However, most recently, it has gained popularity due to its ability to boost metabolism and aid in burning fat.

What sets AOD 9604 apart is that it stimulates the pituitary gland without affecting tissue growth or blood sugar levels. Additionally, it can burn fat without causing overeating, making it a viable option for obese men and women who are trying to implement better eating habits.

Interestingly, AOD 9604 activates your body's fat-burning processes without requiring an HGH receptor. It also releases obese fat cells and reduces the accumulation of new fat cells. By helping to regulate blood sugar and manage insulin levels, AOD 9604 is excellent for weight loss but also for other maladies like inflammation.

Some conditions that this powerful peptide can help address include the following:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Damaged Cartilage
  • Arthritis
CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for Weight Loss

CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for Weight Loss

This medical weight loss supplement Is technically a combo of two peptides. These substances work by stimulating your pituitary gland to produce more of your body's natural human growth hormone, which is secreted during both waking and sleeping periods.

This results in increased protein synthesis and levels of insulin-like growth factors. As hormone secretagogues, they help release hormones into circulation while mimicking the pituitary gland's production. Extensive research has been conducted on the effects of CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin. As a tool for medical weight loss, it has shown very promising results.

That's because when growth hormone levels increase, nutrients are transported through the body faster, more fat is burned, and weight management becomes simpler. Additionally, because CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin increase the amount of growth hormone in your body, it stimulates the breakdown of triglycerides in adipocytes, leading to improved fat metabolism and reduced abdominal fat.

Benefits of CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for weight loss include:

  • Weight Loss
  • Reduction in Body Fat
  • Boosted Metabolism
  • More Energy
  • Enhanced Immune System
  • More
MIC Injections for Weight Loss

MIC Injections for Weight Loss

A Methionine Inositol Choline (MIC) injection is a mixture of lipotropics that aid in fat breakdown. The key components - methionine, inositol, and choline - work together to metabolize fat cells and eliminate stored fat deposits in the liver and body. Methionine is an important amino acid, inositol contributes to proper cell formation, and choline is a water-soluble nutrient that promotes healthy liver function. When combined, these compounds may help reduce body fat.

When used in conjunction with a medical weight loss plan from Global Life Rejuvenation, MIC injections can be a powerful addition to reclaiming your health and wellbeing.

Phentermine for Weight Loss

Like other weight loss peptides and medicines on this page, Phentermine can help you lose weight when you stick to a medical weight loss plan that includes dieting, exercise, and smart life choices. It does so by reducing your appetite, which limits the number of calories you eat every day.

As is the case with Semaglutide, Phentermine has been approved by the FDA and is supported by clinical studies that show it can support weight loss. With time, patience, and healthy living, this supplement may help you reach your wellness goals sooner than you thought possible.

7-Keto DHEA for Weight Loss

In the body, 7-keto-DHEA is produced from dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which is a hormone made by glands near your kidneys. However, unlike DHEA, 7-keto-DHEA is not converted into androgen and estrogen in your body. Instead, 7-keto-DHEA is used orally or topically to boost your body's metabolism. It also helps convert more of your energy into heat, instead of storing it in your body as fat, which can accumulate with time and lifestyle choices.

Much like Semaglutide treatment in Raleigh, NC, 7-keto-DHEA has been shown to be very effective for weight loss as well as a host of other issues. Additional benefits of taking 7-keto-DHEA may include the following:

  • Weight Loss
  • Improvement to Lean Muscle Mass
  • Boosted Thyroid Activity
  • Enhanced Memory
  • Anti-Aging Treatment
  • Better Memory

NC State, R&D Brewing announce co-branded Riviera beer partnership

NC State and R&D Brewing have announced a co-branded beer ahead of the 2023-24 season

VIDEO: Offensive Highlights from Day 1 of NC State Fall Camp

RALEIGH, N.C. — NC State and R&D Brewing have announced a co-branded beer ahead of the 2023-24 season. The partnership will have NC State’s Tuffy logo placed on the Riviera beer cans as a direct collaboration between the two brands.

According to a release — which can be found below — the beverages will be found exclusively at NC State Athletics events along with select stores close to campus. That will be in addition to the beers R&D Brewing already offers at athletics events inside Carter-Finley Stadium and PNC Arena this coming season.

While it’s not a new beer that R&D Brewing is producing, it’s one that has already found immense success on the market — hence why the name wasn’t changed. Riviera is a Mexican-style lager that is already sold in stores and will be perfect for tailgates this fall.

Read more about the partnership between NC State Athletics and R&D Brewing in the release below.

After renewing their partnership for the upcoming season, R&D Brewing and NC State Athletics will unveil a new co-branded and officially licensed specialty can of their existing Riviera Mexican Style Lager this fall.

One of the core brands within the R&D Brewing portfolio, the co-branded Riviera line will be made available exclusively at NC State athletic events and at select retail outlets surrounding campus.

The sale of the officially licensed product will help generate royalties that can be reinvested in scholarships for NC State University.

"We are excited to expand our partnership with a great Raleigh-based company like R&D Brewing," said Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan. "I'm looking forward to having this co-branded product at Wolfpack athletic events."

"We are thrilled about our exciting new beer partnership with NC State Athletics," said Rachel Peterson, COO of R&D Brewing. "This collaboration merges the passion for exceptional craft brewing with the energy and dedication of NC State athletics. This partnership symbolizes a shared commitment to excellence and the creation of unforgettable experiences."

About R&D:Based in Raleigh, R&D Brewing has established itself as a premier craft brewery renowned for its award-winning beers and dedication to pushing the boundaries of flavor. The News & Observer publishes a weekly roundup of restaurant sanitation scores to keep you up-to-date on the health grades at Triangle dining spots.

NC State's 20 Most Important Players 2023: WR Bradley Rozner, No. 8

247Sports Embed Resource...

247Sports Embed Resource

NC State begins its 2023 football season in less than two weeks, kicking off on the road against UConn Aug. 31. Following an 8-5 season, the Wolfpack has higher hopes this fall with the return of many key players, addition of multiple talented transfers, and a veteran coaching staff.

But at the end of the day, it will come down to the players. With that in mind, Pack Pride is counting down NC State's 20 most important players.

Coming in at No. 8 is graduate wide receiver Bradley Rozner.

BACKGROUND

Rozner, who graduated high school in 2016 (not a misprint), tallied 33 receptions for 805 yards with eight touchdowns as a senior at Needville (Texas). After high school, Rozner enrolled at Cisco (Texas) JUCO.

During his first junior college game in 2016, Rozner suffered a season-ending injury. In the spring of 2017, Rozner was injured again, and missed the entire 2017 season. Then in 2018, Rozner had a breakout season, finishing with 44 receptions for 616 yards with 13 touchdowns, while earning Honorable Mention NJCAA All-America.

After his third season at Cisco College, Rozner transferred to Rice in 2019, and made an immediate impact tallying a 55 receptions for 770 yards and five scores. The following season, he was injured again, and sat out the 2020 season.

In 2021, Rozner was injured in the season-opener, and lost for the entire season. Then last fall, Rozner had a career year, finishing with 44 catches for 876 yards and 10 touchdowns. Then on July 5, Rozner entered the transfer portal. 12 days later, Rozner committed to NC State.

2023 OUTLOOK

When healthy, Rozner's been highly productive. However, that's big question. Can he stay healthy this fall? Over the past seven seasons, he's missed the majority if not all of four.

Regardless, Rozner was one of the most important offseason additions for the Wolfpack. Once he joined the program, Rozner immediately became the most proven receiver on the roster -- and it's not close.

Besides the injury concerns, it's also important to remember Rozner's only been on campus a month. Nonetheless, the early returns have been solid. In my opinion, State needs him to take the next step, but in fairness to him, he's still likely getting comfortable in the offense.

If the Wolfpack is going to reach its full potential this fall, it needs Rozner to be a significant weapon this season.

A Guy in Raleigh Owns The World's Most Influential Cowbell

Here you go. More cowbell.Last week, I re-ran a story I originally wrote back in 2021. Back then, Roanoke Rapids High School was auctioning off a cowbell autographed by Will Ferrell. Here you go. More cowbell.

Last week, I re-ran a story I originally wrote back in 2021. Back then, Roanoke Rapids High School was auctioning off a cowbell autographed by Will Ferrell. Long story short, it wasn’t the actual cowbell that Ferrell played during a legendary sketch on Saturday Night Live. The prop from the sketch never left 30 Rock. The one sent to Roanoke Rapids was a replica, even though it did what it was supposed to: Get people talking and raise money for the alma mater of Ferrell’s parents.

However! I got an email from a reader last week, who said he had a lead for me. The real cowbell, from the very real Blue Öyster Cult, played in the real version of “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” is now owned by a guy in Raleigh.

I emailed that guy. Is it true?, I asked. “The short answer,” he replied, “is yes.”

The Context Behind the Cowbell

If you listen to “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” you can hear the cowbell. Just barely.

Apparently, it really depends on how you listen to it. If you stream it on, say, Apple Music or Spotify, it’s there, but you don’t notice it unless you’re really listening for it. But back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when classic rock stations had the song in heavy rotation, the stations’ methods of audio compression brought out the sound of the cowbell. That’s what Ferrell heard, and that’s what provided the spark that led to the sketch, which originally aired on SNL back in April 2000.

Which is kind of amazing, because originally, we had much less cowbell. From the Washington Post:

It was an afterthought. The song was recorded without it, and was added as an overdub at the last minute. According to former BOC bassist Joe Bouchard, an unnamed producer asked his brother, drummer Albert Bouchard, to play the cowbell after the fact. "Albert thought he was crazy," Bouchard told the Asbury Park (N.J.) Press in 2000. "But he put all this tape around a cowbell and played it. It really pulled the track together."

Most cowbell lore focuses on the SNL skit, but the actual cowbell itself, the one that was played in the real song, has been mostly ignored. Or, at least it was until 15 years ago.

A Retirement Home For The Cowbell

I should say, Rick French is not Just Some Guy. He’s the chairman and CEO of French/West/Vaughan, a very large public relations firm in Raleigh. He’s also been a national trustee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum for the last 17 years. In an interview with the News & Observer in 2018, French said he loves live music, has a lot of friends in the industry, and owns a ton of autographed guitars. He’s just not a great musician himself. “I play the cowbell and kazoo really well,” he said, “but it stops there.”

Anyhow, my tipster told me that French had the cowbell. “I do own the BOC cowbell made famous on ‘(Don’t Fear)’ The Reaper, or at least one of them,” French told me via email. He’s shown it off to friends and colleagues for years, but this is the first time he’s publicly told the story of how he got it.

Share North Carolina Rabbit Hole

French is friends with Robin Zander of Cheap Trick. In November 2008, the band was in Florida to try to do this impossible: A live rendition of the The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” which was created specifically to be unplayable live. Cheap Trick was going to give it a go.

A friend told French about the show, and he flew down to Clearwater to watch. He also got invited to a private jam session afterward. Dave Mason of Traffic, Joe Lynn Turner of Deep Purple, Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad, and members of the John Entwistle Band were all playing.

So was Buck Dharma of Blue Öyster Cult. “He and I became friendly a couple months earlier when he performed at a benefit concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that I produced here in the Triangle,” French said.

In Clearwater, at the end of his set, Dharma played “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” and mentioned that the cowbell he was playing was the very same one that Blue Öyster Cult had used in studio on the original recording. “By Buck’s account, several cowbells were tried and/or used in studio to get the correct sound,” French said. “He wasn’t in studio himself that day, but as the only continuous member of BOC, it came into his possession.” It was small, gray, and did not look anything like the “Black Beauty” model of cowbell that Ferrell played on SNL.

At the end of the concert, Dharma announced that he was auctioning off the cowbell right then and there. This wasn’t out of character for him; Dharha has made big charitable donations before, and once held an entire concert to raise money for a young boy with an inoperable brain tumor. So, to get the most money for the cowbell, Dharma’s wife Sandy nudged French into a bidding war. “I won’t say what I paid,” French said, “but it was a lot.”

Now, look. I’m taking Rick French at his word, who was taking Buck Dharma at his word. I can’t establish chain of custody here. After all, how can you really know that it’s the real thing, a half-century after “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” was recorded? Even so, cowbell lore seems to have eternal staying power. “More cowbell” is now in the dictionary. So just imagine what it’s like to be the guy who has the cowbell that inspired More Cowbell. “It’s quite the conversation piece,” French said. “People ask if they can be photographed with it quite often.”

The day after French bought it, he discovered that the cowbell also had the power to bend laws to his will. “I needed to be back in Raleigh, so I packed the cowbell in my overnight bag and went to the Tampa airport,” French said. He didn’t want to risk putting it in his checked luggage. “I was cutting my flight departure time close, as I tend to do, and when I tried to get through TSA I was stopped because of the cowbell. I was told I couldn’t take it on the flight as it could be construed as a ‘dangerous weapon.’”

French said he told the TSA agents three things:

French said the TSA supervisor said he could take it through on one condition: His team had to get a picture with it. “So I took the photo of them on some guy’s phone, put the cowbell back in my bag, and sprinted to my gate.” The only prescription for making his flight, in this case, was more cowbell.

RALEIGH — The N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission received an update Thursday on the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries’ staff’s progress in developing Amendment 1 to the spotted seatrout management plan.

The commission, policy-making arm of the division, met Thursday and Friday in Hilton North Hills Hotel in Raleigh.

In its May 2023 meeting in Beaufort, the commission discussed the possibility of toughening rules in the fishery.

The commission adopted a management plan for the popular species in 2012. It included a 14-inch minimum harvest size limit, a 75-fish commercial daily harvest limit and no commercial harvest or sale of spotted trout caught in joint waters – managed by the fisheries commission and the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission – on weekends.

There has been increased pressure on the fishery in recent years and some push from the public and some fisheries commission members for additional restrictions in a new plan amendment. Staff told the panel Thursday the goal is to have the amendment ready for commission review in 2024.

But staff biologist Louis Pensinger told the commission Thursday that the fish stock is very resilient, in large part because the fish mature early and females can reproduce by age one.

In fact, Pensinger said the biggest problem in the stock over the years has been that they are very susceptible to cold-water temperatures and ice and can die in big numbers in what are known as “cold stun” events. But even after those events, the population has historically bounced back fast.

And temperatures cold enough to stun the fish have become increasingly rare, with the last “cold stun” event in 2018.

In 2021, the latest year reported on the fisheries division’s website, commercial watermen in North Carolina landed 694,811 pounds of spotted sea trout worth $1.7 million. That is the highest number of pounds of the fish reportedly landed in the commercial fishery dating back to 1972, although landings in the early- to mid-1970s also exceeded 600,000 pounds, as did 1991. It’s estimated that recreational fishermen catch about seven times more spotted seatrout than commercial fishing vessels.

Spotted seatrout can be found from Massachusetts south. They are highly targeted by recreational fishermen, and it has been estimated that recreational fishermen catch seven times as many as commercial fishermen throughout the range, although many are released.

Recreational fishermen usually catch them by hook-and-line gear using a variety of natural and artificial baits.

As a result of the push for tougher rules, the goal of the eventual plan amendment is to make sure the fishery is sustainable.

The commission in May approved a list of goals and objectives for the amendment, including:

• Implement management within North Carolina that ends overfishing and maintains the spotted seatrout spawning stock abundance and recruitment potential.

• Promote restoration, enhancement and protection of critical habitat and environmental quality in a manner consistent with the Coastal Habitat Protection Plan to maintain or increase growth, survival and reproduction of the spotted seatrout stock.

• Monitor and manage the fishery in a manner that utilizes biological, socioeconomic, fishery, habitat and environmental data.

• Promote outreach and interjurisdictional cooperation regarding the status and management of the spotted seatrout stock in North Carolina and Virginia waters.
