If you're ready to get back to loving your life with more energy, confidence, and positivity, medical weight loss with peptide therapy may be for you. But to truly understand the benefits of peptides like Semaglutide, it's important you grasp what peptide therapy is and how it benefits your body.

Semaglutide Treatment in Ross Corner, NJ

Many individuals turn to peptide therapy to enhance their overall wellbeing by boosting hormones. Different types of peptides can target different areas of health, such as collagen peptides that can help improve skin, hair, and gut health.

Other peptides, such as AOD 9604, CJC 1295, and Semaglutide in Ross Corner, NJ, are incredibly beneficial for losing weight. Compared to vitamin supplements, peptide therapy works differently as peptides are already part of the proteins in our bodies, making them easier to absorb and benefit from. Conversely, our bodies can sometimes fail to absorb all the nutrients present in multivitamins, leading to their excretion through urine.

However, it's important to note that weight loss is a complex process that involves various factors like age, genetics, lifestyle, exercise, and diet. While peptides like Semaglutide can provide much-needed assistance in achieving your weight loss goals, they are most effective when combined with healthy dietary choices, regular exercise routines, and overall healthier lifestyle choices.

If you've already tried different weight loss plans and diets but haven't had any success, medical weight loss with peptide therapy may provide that extra boost you need to realize your goals.

What is Semaglutide Treatment in Ross Corner, NJ?

If you're looking to lose weight and keep it off, diet and exercise are important, but it can be difficult to stick to a routine. For busy adults and parents, Semaglutide can be a helpful tool for weight loss. This injection, approved by the FDA for diabetes and obesity, works by stimulating GLP-1 receptors in the brain to aid in weight loss and improve long-term health.

You may be wondering to yourself, "That sounds great, but how does this type of peptide work?" Semaglutide acts like glucagon in your body, which signals to your brain that you're full and don't need to eat anymore. When you take Semaglutide, and you try to overeat, your body waves a proverbial red flag as if to say, "That's enough."

Semaglutide also slows down digestion, reducing unnecessary snacking throughout the day. By reducing glucose spikes after meals, it reduces inflammation, which is important for overall health. Additionally, Semaglutide helps your pancreas secrete insulin, regulates the glucose levels in your body, and even has anti-aging and longevity properties. If you're struggling to lose weight, peptide therapies for weight loss like Semaglutide can be an invaluable addition to your weight loss plan from Global Life Rejuvenation.

Who Should Consider Semaglutide Therapy in Ross Corner, NJ?

There are multiple medications available to combat obesity by suppressing appetite and promoting weight loss. However, Semaglutide stands out as an exceptional option.

A recent study of 2,000 obese adults examined the effects of Semaglutide when combined with a diet and exercise program. The results were compared to those who only made lifestyle changes without taking Semaglutide. After 68 weeks, it was found that half of the participants using Semaglutide lost 15% of their body weight, with nearly a third losing 20%. In contrast, those who only made lifestyle changes lost an average of 2.4% of their weight.

It's obvious, then, that Semaglutide is a safe and effective supplement for your weight loss journey with Global Life Rejuvenation. But who is the ideal patient who should be taking it?

If you have a body mass index (BMI) of 27kg/m2 or higher and at least one weight-related condition, such as high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol, or if your BMI is 30kg/m2 or higher, the FDA recommends Semaglutide for weight loss.

Healthy Eating Tips While Taking Semaglutide

As medical weight loss experts, one thing our doctors and practitioners know at Global Life Rejuvenation is that true weight loss isn't dictated by medicines. It's achieved by sticking to a combo of exercise, healthy life choices, and healthy eating habits. From there, peptides like Semaglutide in Ross Corner, NJ are great for taking your weight loss efforts to the next level of success.

One area where many patients fail in this process is with their diet. If you're considering Semaglutide treatment, keep these diet tips in mind.

Eat Whole Foods

Eat Whole Foods

To enhance your dietary habits, a practical approach is to concentrate on consuming whole foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. These food items are rich in nutrients and can provide a feeling of fullness and satisfaction while also promoting your overall wellbeing.

Be Mindful When You Eat

Be Mindful When You Eat

Eating mindfully involves being fully present and engaged during meals. This entails taking the time to enjoy the flavor of your food, being aware of your body's hunger and fullness signals, and avoiding distractions like electronics or television.

Keep Your Body Hydrated

Keep Your Body Hydrated

To maintain good health and support weight loss, it's crucial to drink plenty of water. It's recommended to drink at least 8-10 cups of water daily. You may also try adding low-calorie drinks like herbal tea or infused water to keep things interesting.

Meal-Prepping

Use Meal Prepping to Your Advantage

Planning your meals in advance is an effective approach to maintaining a healthy diet. Set aside some time each week to plan your meals and snacks, keeping in mind to incorporate a balance of protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. This will prevent impulsive food choices and guarantee that you have nutritious options available when hunger strikes.

Other Peptide Therapies and Medicines for Medical Weight Loss in Ross Corner, NJ

Unlike many medical weight loss clinics, which only offer cookie-cutter weight loss plans and one or two additional fat-busting solutions, Global Life Rejuvenation provides access to new, innovative supplements and medicines. If you're used to fad diets and "quick" weight loss plans, peptides like AOD 9604 and others may be new to you. To help build your foundation of healthy living knowledge, let's take a look at a few of the most popular weight-loss peptides and medicines available at Global Life Rejuvenation.

Semiglutide Weight Loss Ross Corner, NJ

AOD 9604 for Weight Loss

Often combined with Semaglutide regimens, AOD 9604 is known to promote fat breakdown, inhibit lipogenesis, and support tendons and cartilage. However, most recently, it has gained popularity due to its ability to boost metabolism and aid in burning fat.

What sets AOD 9604 apart is that it stimulates the pituitary gland without affecting tissue growth or blood sugar levels. Additionally, it can burn fat without causing overeating, making it a viable option for obese men and women who are trying to implement better eating habits.

Interestingly, AOD 9604 activates your body's fat-burning processes without requiring an HGH receptor. It also releases obese fat cells and reduces the accumulation of new fat cells. By helping to regulate blood sugar and manage insulin levels, AOD 9604 is excellent for weight loss but also for other maladies like inflammation.

Some conditions that this powerful peptide can help address include the following:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Damaged Cartilage
  • Arthritis

CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for Weight Loss

This medical weight loss supplement Is technically a combo of two peptides. These substances work by stimulating your pituitary gland to produce more of your body's natural human growth hormone, which is secreted during both waking and sleeping periods.

This results in increased protein synthesis and levels of insulin-like growth factors. As hormone secretagogues, they help release hormones into circulation while mimicking the pituitary gland's production. Extensive research has been conducted on the effects of CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin. As a tool for medical weight loss, it has shown very promising results.

That's because when growth hormone levels increase, nutrients are transported through the body faster, more fat is burned, and weight management becomes simpler. Additionally, because CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin increase the amount of growth hormone in your body, it stimulates the breakdown of triglycerides in adipocytes, leading to improved fat metabolism and reduced abdominal fat.

Benefits of CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for weight loss include:

  • Weight Loss
  • Reduction in Body Fat
  • Boosted Metabolism
  • More Energy
  • Enhanced Immune System
  • More

MIC Injections for Weight Loss

A Methionine Inositol Choline (MIC) injection is a mixture of lipotropics that aid in fat breakdown. The key components - methionine, inositol, and choline - work together to metabolize fat cells and eliminate stored fat deposits in the liver and body. Methionine is an important amino acid, inositol contributes to proper cell formation, and choline is a water-soluble nutrient that promotes healthy liver function. When combined, these compounds may help reduce body fat.

When used in conjunction with a medical weight loss plan from Global Life Rejuvenation, MIC injections can be a powerful addition to reclaiming your health and wellbeing.

Phentermine for Weight Loss

Like other weight loss peptides and medicines on this page, Phentermine can help you lose weight when you stick to a medical weight loss plan that includes dieting, exercise, and smart life choices. It does so by reducing your appetite, which limits the number of calories you eat every day.

As is the case with Semaglutide, Phentermine has been approved by the FDA and is supported by clinical studies that show it can support weight loss. With time, patience, and healthy living, this supplement may help you reach your wellness goals sooner than you thought possible.

7-Keto DHEA for Weight Loss

In the body, 7-keto-DHEA is produced from dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which is a hormone made by glands near your kidneys. However, unlike DHEA, 7-keto-DHEA is not converted into androgen and estrogen in your body. Instead, 7-keto-DHEA is used orally or topically to boost your body's metabolism. It also helps convert more of your energy into heat, instead of storing it in your body as fat, which can accumulate with time and lifestyle choices.

Much like Semaglutide treatment in Ross Corner, NJ, 7-keto-DHEA has been shown to be very effective for weight loss as well as a host of other issues. Additional benefits of taking 7-keto-DHEA may include the following:

  • Weight Loss
  • Improvement to Lean Muscle Mass
  • Boosted Thyroid Activity
  • Enhanced Memory
  • Anti-Aging Treatment
  • Better Memory

Plainfield Country Club, in Edison, N.J., has been chosen by the USGA as the host site for three future championships: the 2025 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, the 2031 U.S. Senior Women’s Open and the 2038 U.S. Senior Open. They will be the third, fourth and fifth USGA championships held at the club.

“The USGA is excited to return to Plainfield Country Club after nearly four decades and continue to build upon a partnership that will support both professional and amateur competition,” said Mark Hill, USGA managing director, Championships. “We know that the club’s rich heritage, renowned course and comprehensive facilities will not only challenge the best players from around the world but will also provide a welcoming environment for each of the three championships.”

Plainfield Country Club, located at the highest point in Middlesex County and overlooking New York City and the Watchung Mountains, was founded in 1890 as the Hillside Tennis Club and added a nine-hole golf course five years later. The current course was designed by Donald Ross and opened for play in 1921. Today, it is a family-oriented club that also provides premier racquets and swimming facilities.

Gil Hanse and his team gradually began restoring Ross’ features in the late 1990s, including many that had become covered by trees or lost over the years. During the early 2000s, every green, fairway, teeing ground, chipping area and bunker was restored, and encroaching trees were removed. This process opened up strategic playing angles and enhanced views across the property.

“On behalf of Plainfield Country Club, we are thrilled to welcome the USGA back to our historic club and classic Donald Ross course,” said Terence Gallagher, club president. “This 15-year agreement between PCC and the USGA affirms our longstanding partnership and we look forward to hosting championship golf at PCC for years to come.”

The club previously hosted the 1978 U.S. Amateur Championship and the 1987 U.S. Women’s Open Championship. John Cook made eight birdies in the final match of the Amateur to defeat Scott Hoch, 5 and 4, sealing his victory with a 4-foot par putt on the 32nd hole. Laura Davies carded a 1-under-par 71 to win an 18-hole playoff with Ayako Okamoto and JoAnne Carner to claim the Women’s Open. The players completed 72 holes at 3-under 285.

Plainfield Country Club twice hosted The Barclays on the PGA Tour. Dustin Johnson, the 2016 U.S. Open champion, won the first one by two strokes in 2011. Jason Day, a two-time U.S. Open runner-up, powered his way to a six-stroke triumph four years later. A member club of both the Metropolitan Golf Association and the New Jersey State Golf Association, the club has also hosted six Met Amateurs, five Met Opens, five New Jersey Amateurs and seven New Jersey Opens.

The 2025 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, with Echo Lake Country Club, in Westfield, serving as the stroke-play co-host course, will be the 64th USGA championship contested in New Jersey. The dates of the championship are May 17-21. The Garden State last held a U.S. Senior Open in 1990 (at The Ridgewood Country Club, won by Lee Trevino by two strokes over Jack Nicklaus) and will host a U.S. Senior Women’s Open for the first time.

The U.S. Amateur Four-Ball was first played in 2015. The championship is open to teams (or sides) of amateurs, with each player’s Handicap Index® not exceeding 5.4. The field of 128 sides will compete in two rounds of stroke play, resulting in the low 32 teams advancing to match play.

First played in 2018, the U.S. Senior Women’s Open is open to professional females and amateur females with a Handicap Index® not exceeding 7.4, who have reached their 50th birthday as of the first day of the championship. The field includes 120 players who compete in two rounds of stroke play, after which the field is reduced to the low 50 scores and ties. This year’s championship will be played Aug. 24-27 at Waverley Country Club, in Portland, Ore.

The U.S. Senior Open is open to professional golfers, and amateurs with a Handicap Index® not exceeding 3.4, who are at least 50 years of age by the start of championship play. The field of 156 players will compete in two rounds of stroke play, after which the field will be reduced to the low 60 scores and ties.

KIYC: Parents, advocates question effectiveness of schools restraining students with special needs

Some parents of students with special needs say their kids are repeatedly restrained by school personnel. A Kane In Your Corner investigation found restraint is sometimes used in ways that violate New Jersey law. Now, a new approach being rolled out in a handful of districts nationwide raises questions about just how necessary the controversial tactic really is.

Sherman Baskerville, 7, has been restrained multiple times at his elementary school in Cliffwood Beach.

“They’ll have me down on the ground, and every time, I can’t move,” he says.

Sherman’s mother, Shanice Baskerville, says she’s also personally witnessed her daughter being restrained, which she says is “the worst thing I ever saw.”

Anthony Ratliff is still traumatized after being restrained at his old school in Lawrence. Records show it sometimes happened multiple times a day.

“I have ADHD so I can't sit for long. So, I might try to get up,” he says. “If I thought they were going to restrain me, I'd probably run. But then they would restrain me because I was running.”

Q&A: Kane In Your Corner investigates student restraint methods in New Jersey schools. Is it needed?

There are no statistics on how often students are restrained in New Jersey. This is the first year that school districts are required to keep track. But many education advocates contend the practice is overused, which results in physical and psychological damage.

Under New Jersey law, students can only be restrained if they present “an immediate danger” to themselves or others. But Kane In Your Corner reviewed dozens of cases, and found some are restrained for things as trivial as tearing a piece of paper.

Adena Romeo Ratliff, Anthony’s mother, says when she complained, a school official urged her to go along with the tactics: “She said ‘The more we restrain him, the more we'll break this behavior.’”

Matawan-Aberdeen School Superintendent Joseph Majka says he is “not at liberty to discuss the specifics of [Sherman’s] case,” but says, “the district has a legally-compliant policy on restraint and seclusion.”

Lawrence Superintendent Ross Kasun says his district also has “policies in place to comply with the law.”

RELATED: KIYC investigation finds some school districts are using potentially dangerous restraint methods on students with special needs

Education advocate Renay Zamloot contends following the law isn’t enough. Because the law requires districts to train staff on restraint techniques, she says districts come to rely on it, rather than attempting to defuse potential crises before they happen.

“They’re not intervening at the proper point,” Zamloot says.

That may be starting to change. One company, Ukeru Systems, now offers a different kind of training; not on how to restrain students, but on how to avoid needing to. As part of the training, staffers are taught to use foam pads to block out-of-control kids from hurting others.

“If someone's coming to punch me or to bite me, wouldn't it be better if I could block them with something nice and soft?” Ukeru’s CEO, Kim Sanders, asks rhetorically.

Ukeru says districts that complete training typically reduce restraint by 50% or more. The Millcreek district in Pennsylvania reduced the use of restraint from 47 students to zero in two years.

“It’s common sense,” Sanders says. “If you ask a room of 50 adults, ‘what helps you when you’re at your worst?’ you don't get people saying, ‘Restrain me or put me in a room alone.’ If we don't want it, why do we think kids want it?”

FRANKFORD — More than two years after its last hamburger was served in the shadow of the large classic car, one of Sussex County's most popular restaurants has finally been sold to Wawa.

The Chatterbox Drive-In, which closed to the public in September 2018, was officially sold last month. Don Hall, who operated the restaurant for 15 years, no longer owns the Ross' Corner property at the intersection of Route 15 and Route 206 in Augusta.

The agreement was finalized Dec. 16, 2020, Hall said, but the timeline for when residents can expect to see the convenience store open for business remains unclear.

Hall said he is "fairly sure" site developers have obtained a demolition permit for the existing building. However, he does not have additional information since he is no longer involved with the property.

Wawa representatives did not respond to multiple requests for comment this week. The company does not list the Ross' Corner property among its upcoming new locations on its website, a possible indication that the convenience store planned for the site is still months away from opening or even from work beginning.

The Chatterbox opened in 2003 and became what Hall has called a "destination restaurant," attracting customers from throughout the state and beyond to enjoy its atmosphere of 1950s and 60s Americana.

Hall agreed to a contract with Wawa representatives in October 2017, and the Frankford Land Use Board unanimously approved plans for the Wawa in March 2018. The restaurant's final day was Labor Day of the same year.

Local News:Byram official's anti-GOP, anti-Trump, profanity-laced tweet draws ire

Since then, the Chatterbox site has remained largely untouched. Hall sold many of the restaurant's signature items, and the sign facing Route 15 has read, "Elvis has left the building" in a nod to the building's closure.

Hall attributed the delay in finalizing the agreement to a thorough review from Wawa and state officials, noting there were "lots of t's that needed to be crossed and i's that needed to be dotted."

Hall described the official sale agreement as "bittersweet." While he is happy to have finalized the process, he is also sad to see the elements of history from the Chatterbox become part of history.

EAST WINDSOR — Ross Dress for Less, a discounted fashion and home décor chain, opened its doors Saturday in the Windsor Heights Shopping Center on Route 130 during a grand-opening ceremony attended by Mayor Janice Mironov, members of council and Ross representatives.

The retailer now occupies the remaining 22,500-square-feet of the former Super Fresh in Windsor Center, located at the southwest corner of Route 130 and Princeton-Hightstown Road.

“We are excited to welcome Ross Dress for Less, a popular growing national retailer which offers a variety of name brand and designer apparel, accessories, and home goods, for our area shoppers,” Mironov said in a news release announcing the opening. “People in our community have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Ross, and we are confident that it is a great fit in this centrally-located center and will flourish in this new location.”

Ross, headquartered in Dublin, Calif., has 1,173 locations in 33 states and the District of Columbia, including 12 in New Jersey. The company has seen huge sales growth since the recession, with fiscal 2013 revenues of $10.2 billion, the release said.

Last year, a joint-venture partnership of Advance Realty and Structure Tone Equities acquired the Windsor Heights center with plans to improve its appearance and operations. The strip mall had been half-vacant for years prior as commercial activity slowed and retailers left.

“The opening of Ross Dress for Less represents another demonstrated sign of the revitalization of the modernized renovated Windsor Center by new owners Advance Realty,” Mironov said. “Windsor Center has undergone a dramatic transformation in both new look and tenants, positioning it as a leading retail destination for residents of East Windsor and the surrounding region.” Bottom Dollar opened at Windsor Heights in October, marking the chain’s fourth addition to the area in the past few years, including Hamilton and Bordentown.

Ross store hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Giants might’ve lost two highly-drafted cornerbacks in the span of a few days, and yet their secondary somehow looks better today than it was last week. Actually, the secondary should be better than it was for the whole 2019 season.

Saturday, the Giants put the wheels in motion to sign former Panthers cornerback Ross Cockrell, pending him passing COVID-19 protocols and a physical. Cockrell was with the Giants in 2017, and they needed him in a major way in 2020.

Sign up for Giants Extra: Get exclusive news, behind-the-scenes observations and the ability to text directly with reporters

His signing comes days after DeAndre Baker, currently on the commissioner’s exempt list, was charged with armed robbery in Florida and Sam Beal opted out of the 2020 season. Both — Baker was a first-round pick last year, Beal a third-round supplemental pick in 2018 — were candidates to start this season, and now it’s unlikely either suits up for the Giants at all.

Of course, the Giants drafted both Beal and Baker with an eye toward them taking over as their top cornerbacks for the foreseeable future. That plan didn’t work out, so for 2020 at least, all of a sudden general manager Dave Gettleman’s offseason investment in the secondary should pay off.

On paper, this group looks appreciably better than the secondary from 2020. Let’s take a look at the projected starting lineup versus the primary starters from 2019 ...

- 2019: CB1 Janoris Jenkins, CB2 DeAndre Baker/Sam Beal, NICKEL CB Grant Haley/Corey Ballentine, SS Jabrill Peppers, FS Antoine Bethea

- 2020: CB1 James Bradberry, CB2 Ross Cockrell, NICKEL CB Darnay Holmes/Julian Love, SS Jabrill Peppers, FS Xavier McKinney

First, let’s start with Cockrell, since the Giants just signed him.

He spent the last two years with the Panthers after getting three interceptions for the Giants in 2017. He missed the 2018 season due to injury, but played well for Carolina in 2019. Cockrell, splitting time evenly between nickel and outside cornerback, only allowed one touchdown on 67 targets, per Pro Football Focus, and held opposing quarterbacks to a 68.1 rating.

For the Giants in 2017, he played most of his snaps on the outside, which he’ll likely do as a starter for them again this year, too.

He couldn’t possibly perform much worse than Baker did for most of last season. As a rookie, Baker allowed 834 yards and eight touchdowns, was chewed out by Pat Shurmur for a lack of effort and at one point admitted he was having trouble understanding the playbook. Beal only allowed 130 yards in six games, but from Week 12-16 — the bulk of his playing time — PFF had him graded 89th (of 109) among cornerbacks playing at least 100 snaps.

Cockrell will be starting opposite a familiar face too — Bradberry, who the Giants signed from the Panthers on a lucrative three-year, $43.5 million contract.

For all intents and purposes, Bradberry is replacing Janoris Jenkins, who was cut late last season after making distasteful comments on social media and then failing to acknowledge his wrongdoing.

That should be considered an upgrade.

The two gave up around the same amount of yardage — Bradberry allowed 655, Jenkins 607 in one less game, per Pro Football Focus — though Jenkins (four) allowed more touchdowns (two). Bradberry also held passers to an impressive 77.9 rating.

Most importantly, though, Bradberry did an impressive job of containing some of the league’s best wide receivers for Carolina.

He fared especially well against Michael Thomas (zero catches, two targets), D.K. Metcalf (one catch, three targets, 17 yards), Julio Jones (two catches, four targets, 30 yards), DeAndre Hopkins (three catches, six targets, 27 yards) and Mike Evans (three catches, six targets, 61 yards). He only allowed one touchdown total in matchups with those receivers, which included two games each against Thomas, Evans and Jones.

He and Cockrell started 11 games together last season. Overall, only seven teams allowed more passing touchdowns (21) than the Panthers, who only allowed 231 passing yards per game, good for 13th league-wide.

“He gives you a big, long body that has played against number ones,” Gettleman said in April. “He has the mindset, he’s not shy and the moment is not too big for him.”

As for the slot cornerback role, the Giants are hoping that rookie Darnay Holmes, picked in the fourth round out of UCLA, wins that role. He never played the position in college, but Holmes has the right size (5-10, 195), athleticism (4.48-second 40) and skillset to potentially thrive at the position, which he’s been training at all offseason.

He struggled as a junior at UCLA — allowing five touchdowns, per PFF — but that was partly due to an ankle injury that plagued him. As a sophomore, Holmes looked like a potential first-round pick, earning an overall grade of 81.5 from PFF.

If he can get back to that, he’ll be an obvious upgrade over the nickel cornerbacks from 2019, which was split between Grant Haley and 2019 sixth-round pick Corey Ballentine.

“He plays with a good edge, shows some nasty,” Giants coach Joe Judge said in April. “You can see he definitely plays bigger than his size.

Combined, Ballentine and Haley — both back in 2020 competing for roster spots — allowed 750 yards and five touchdowns. If they were one player, that would be the second-most slot yardage allowed by any cornerbacks in 2019, behind Logan Ryan’s 766 yards allowed.

Holmes might have to hold off Julian Love, a 2019 fourth-round pick, who also would be an upgrade at nickel over Ballentine and Haley, too. Love converted to safety as a rookie and wound up being the Giants’ best-graded defensive back by PFF. He’s more likely to play a hybrid safety/nickel corner role, though, than exclusively covering the slot.

And that brings us to safety.

Peppers is healthy and is expected to take a big leap in his second season since coming over in the Odell Beckham trade. He should improve on his numbers from 2019, which included 60 tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles and a touchdown. He could be used as a blitzer more often in Patrick Graham’s defense, too. He had 11 total pressures in 2019; only five safeties had more, per PFF.

Then, there’s rookie Xavier McKinney, who fell to the Giants in the second round after an impressive career at Alabama. Many considered him a first-round prospect, and his ability to line up all over the field — both safety spots, nickel corner, linebacker — should add some much-needed playmaking to a defense that lacked it in 2019. He had three sacks, three interceptions and four forced fumbles as a junior last year.

McKinney “plays with a lot of passion and energy,” Judge said. “He also has that ability to be the quarterback on the backend and really be the signal caller for our defense. Knowing the program he comes from, he fits the mold of a smart, tough, fundamentally sound guy we’re looking to build with.

Antoine Bethea struggled in his lone Giants season, only getting one interception with zero forced fumbles or sacks.

All told, that’s an upgrade at just about every spot in the secondary.

For a team that ranked 28th in pass defense in 2019 and allowed 30 touchdowns, the only way to go is up.

“We’re putting together, I think, a very talented young group that just has the ability to play football at the NFL level,” Gettleman said. “We’ve just got to get them rolling.”
