Let's Talk!

What is Testosterone?

Testosterone is a crucial hormone for men and plays an important role throughout the male lifespan. Most of a male's testosterone is produced through the testicles. Also called the male sex hormone, testosterone starts playing its part during puberty.

When a male goes through puberty, testosterone helps males develop:

  • Facial Hair
  • Body Hair
  • Deeper Voice
  • Muscle Strength
  • Increased Libido
  • Muscle Density

As boys turn to men and men grow older, testosterone levels deplete naturally. Sometimes, events like injuries and chronic health conditions like diabetes can lower testosterone levels. Unfortunately, when a man loses too much T, it results in hypogonadism. When this happens, the testosterone must be replaced, or the male will suffer from symptoms like muscle loss, low libido, and even depression.

How Does TRT Work?

TRT is exactly what it sounds like: a treatment option for men that replaces testosterone so that your body regulates hormones properly and restores balance to your life. Also called androgen replacement therapy, TRT alleviates the symptoms that men experience with low T.

Originally lab-synthesized in 1935, testosterone has grown in popularity since it was produced. Today, TRT and other testosterone treatments are among the most popular prescriptions in the U.S.

Without getting too deep into the science, TRT works by giving your body the essential testosterone it needs to function correctly. As the primary androgen for both males and females, testosterone impacts many of the body's natural processes – especially those needed for overall health. For example, men with low T are more prone to serious problems like cardiovascular disease and even type-2 diabetes.

When your body quits making enough testosterone, it causes your health to suffer until a solution is presented. That's where TRT and anti-aging medicine for men can help. TRT helps balance your hormones and replenish your depleted testosterone. With time, your body will begin to heal, and many symptoms like low libido and irritability begin to diminish.

What Causes Low T?

For men, aging is the biggest contributor to lower testosterone levels, though there are other causes like obesity, drug abuse, testicular injuries, and certain prescribed medications. Sometimes, long-term health conditions like AIDS, cirrhosis of the liver, and kidney disease can lower testosterone levels.

When a man's testosterone levels drop significantly, it alters his body's ratio of estrogen and testosterone. Lower testosterone levels cause more abdominal fat, which in turn results in increased aromatase, which converts even more testosterone into estrogen.

If you're concerned that you might have low T, you're not alone. Millions of men in the U.S. feel the same way. The best way to find out if your testosterone is low is to get your levels tested.

For sustainable testosterone replacement therapy benefits, you must consult with hormone doctors and experts like those you can find at Global Life Rejuvenation. That way, you can find the root cause of your hormone problems, and our team can craft a personalized HRT plan tailored to your needs.

Low Sex Drive

One of the most common reasons that men choose TRT is because they have lost that "spark" with their partner. It's not easy for a man to hear that they're not performing like they used to. Intimacy is a powerful part of any relationship. When a once-healthy sex life dwindles, it can cause serious relationship issues.

The good news is that low libido doesn't have to be a permanent problem. TRT and anti-aging medicines help revert hormone levels back into their normal range. When this happens, many men have a more enjoyable life full of intimacy and sex drive.

Inability to Achieve and Maintain an Erection

Weak erections – it's an uncomfortable subject for many men in the U.S. to talk about. It's even worse to experience first-hand. You're in the midst of an intimate moment, and you can't do your part. Despite being perfectly normal, many men put blame and shame upon themselves when they can't achieve an erection. And while the inability to perform sexually can be caused by poor diet, obesity, and chronic health conditions, low testosterone is often a contributing factor.

Fortunately, weak erections are a treatable condition. The best way to regain your confidence and ability in bed is to speak with your doctor. Once any underlying conditions are discovered, options like TRT may be the best course of treatment.

Hair Loss

Loss of Strength and Muscle Mass

Do you find it harder and harder to work out and lift weights in the gym? Are you having problems lifting heavy items that you once had no problem lifting?

Recent studies show that when men are inactive, they lose .5% of muscle strength every year, from ages 25 to 60. After 60, muscle loss doubles every decade. While some muscle loss is common as men age, a significant portion can be tied to low testosterone levels. When a man's T levels drop, so does his muscle mass.

Testosterone is a much-needed component used in gaining and retaining muscle mass. That's why many doctors prescribe TRT Long Hill Township, NJ, for men having problems with strength. One recent study found that men who increased their testosterone levels using TRT gained as much as 2.5 pounds of muscle mass.

Whether your gym performance is lacking, or you can't lift heavy items like you used to, don't blame it all on age. You could be suffering from hypogonadism.

Hair Loss

If you're like millions of other men in their late 20s and 30s, dealing with hair loss is a reality you don't want to face. Closely related to testosterone decline and hormone imbalances, hair loss is distressing for many men. This common symptom is often related to a derivative of testosterone called DHT. Excess amounts of DHT cause hair follicles to halt their production, causing follicles to die.

Because hair located at the front and crown is more sensitive to DHT, it grows slower than other follicles and eventually stops growing permanently. Thankfully, TRT and anti-aging treatments for men in Long Hill Township, NJ, is now available to address hair loss for good.

While it's true that you can't change your genes, you can change the effects of low testosterone on your body. Whether you're suffering from thinning hair or hair loss across your entire head, TRT and other hormone therapies can stop hair loss and even reverse the process.

Gynecomastia

Also called "man boobs," gynecomastia is essentially the enlargement of male breast tissue. This increase in fatty tissue is often caused by hormonal imbalances and an increase in estrogen. For men, estrogen levels are elevated during andropause. Also called male menopause, andropause usually happens because of a lack of testosterone.

If you're a man between the ages of 40 and 55, and you're embarrassed by having large breasts, don't lose hope. TRT is a safe, effective way to eliminate the underlying cause of gynecomastia without invasive surgery. With a custom HRT and fitness program, you can bring your testosterone and estrogen levels back to normal before you know it.

Decreased Energy

Decreased energy was once considered a normal part of aging. Today, many doctors know better. Advances in technology and our understanding of testosterone show that low T and lack of energy often go hand-in-hand.

If you're struggling to enjoy activities like playing with your kids or hiking in a park due to lack of energy, it could be a sign of low T. Of course, getting tired is perfectly normal for any man. But if you're suffering from continual fatigue, a lack of enjoyment, or a decrease in energy, it might be time to speak with a doctor.

Whether you're having a tough time getting through your day or can't finish activities you used to love, TRT could help.

Lack of Sleep

A study from 2011 showed that men who lose a week's worth of sleep can experience lowered testosterone levels – as much as 15%, according to experts. Additional research into the topic found almost 15% of workers only get five hours of sleep (or less) per night. These findings suggest that sleep loss negatively impacts T levels and wellbeing.

The bottom line is that men who have trouble sleeping often suffer from lower testosterone levels as a result. If you find yourself exhausted at the end of the day but toss and turn all night long, you might have low T.

TRT and anti-aging medicines can restore your T levels back to normal, which can help you sleep better with proper diet and exercise.

Depression

You're feeling down about everything, and there's no solid explanation for why you're in such a crummy mood. Your daily life is great and full of success, but you can't help but feel unexcited and unmotivated. If you're experiencing symptoms like these, you may be depressed – and it may stem from low testosterone.

A research study from Munich found that men with depression also commonly had low testosterone levels. This same study also found that depressed men had cortisol levels that were 67% higher than other men. Because higher cortisol levels lead to lower levels of testosterone, the chances of severe depression increase.

Depression is a very real disorder and should always be diagnosed and treated by your doctor. One treatment option gaining in popularity is TRT for depression. Studies show that when TRT is used to restore hormone levels, men enjoy a lighter, more improved mood. That's great news for men who are depressed and have not had success with other treatments like anti-depression medicines, which alter the brain's chemistry.

Inability to Concentrate

Ask anyone over the age of 50 how their memory is, and they'll tell you it wasn't what it used to be. Memory loss and lack of concentration occur naturally as we age – these aren't always signs of dementia or Alzheimer's.

However, what many men consider a symptom of age may be caused by low testosterone. A 2006 study found that males with low T levels performed poorly on cognitive skill tests. These results suggest that low testosterone may play a part in reducing cognitive ability. If you're having trouble staying on task or remembering what your schedule is for the day, it might not be due to your age. It might be because your testosterone levels are too low. If you're having trouble concentrating or remembering daily tasks, it could be time to talk to your doctor.

Why? The aforementioned study found that participating men experienced improved cognitive skills when using TRT.

Weight Gain

Even though today's society is more inclusive of large people, few adults enjoy gaining weight as they age. Despite their best efforts, many men just can't shed the extra pounds around their midsections, increasing their risk of heart disease and cancer.

Often, male weight gain is caused by hormone imbalances that slow the metabolism and cause weight to pile on. This phase of life is called andropause and happens when there is a lack of testosterone in the body. Couple that with high cortisol levels, and you've got a recipe for flabby guts and double chins.

Fortunately, TRT treatments and physician-led weight loss programs can correct hormone imbalances and lead to healthy weight loss for men.

What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin is a synthetic hormone peptide, like GHRH, which triggers the release of growth hormones. When used under the care of a qualified physician, Sermorelin can help you lose weight, increase your energy levels, and help you feel much younger.

HRT For Men Long Hill Township, NJ

Benefits of Sermorelin

Human growth hormone (HGH) therapy has been used for years to treat hormone deficiencies. Unlike HGH, which directly replaces declining human growth hormone levels, Sermorelin addresses the underlying cause of decreased HGH, stimulating the pituitary gland naturally. This approach keeps the mechanisms of growth hormone production active.

Benefits of Sermorelin include:

  • Better Immune Function
  • Improved Physical Performance
  • More Growth Hormone Production
  • Less Body Fat
  • Build More Lean Muscle
  • Better Sleep

What is Ipamorelin?

Ipamorelin helps to release growth hormones in a person's body by mimicking a peptide called ghrelin. Ghrelin is one of three hormones which work together to regulate the growth hormone levels released by the pituitary gland. Because Ipamorelin stimulates the body to produce growth hormone, your body won't stop its natural growth hormone production, which occurs with synthetic HGH.

Ipamorelin causes growth hormone secretion that resembles natural release patterns rather than being constantly elevated from HGH. Because ipamorelin stimulates the natural production of growth hormone, our patients can use this treatment long-term with fewer health risks.

 Ipamorelin Long Hill Township, NJ

One of the biggest benefits of Ipamorelin is that it is suitable for both men and women. It provides significant short and long-term benefits in age management therapies, boosting patients' overall health, wellbeing, and outlook on life. When growth hormone is produced by the pituitary gland using Ipamorelin, clients report amazing benefits.

Some of those benefits include:

  • Powerful Anti-Aging Properties
  • More Muscle Mass
  • Less Unsightly Body Fat
  • Deep, Restful Sleep
  • Increased Athletic Performance
  • More Energy
  • Less Recovery Time for Training Sessions and Injuries

What would happen to NJ if we were attacked by nuclear weapons?

We used NUKEMAP by Alex Wellerstein to see what would happen if a nuclear warhead hit New York, Philadelphia, Washington or New Jersey.

The models show what would happen in aerial detonation, meaning the bomb would be set off in the sky, causing considerable damage to structures and people below; or what would happen in a ground detonation, which would have the alarming result of nuclear fallout. The models do not take into account the number of casualties that would result from fallout.

Picture this: you're getting back in your car after a long day of walking. Maybe you were at Great Adventure or dancing at a concert at the PNC Bank Arts Center. Your feet have had enough, and sitting just isn't cutting it. You have got to take your shoes off, but you didn't bring a pair to change into!

This may be TMI, but the same thing happened to me this weekend. I had spent 6 hours walking around, and my cute sandals gave me a blister. My drive home was about an hour long. I knew I wasn't going to last. Thankfully, it was my left foot that was bothering me, so driving wasn't really a concern.

Is it gross to drive barefoot? In my humble opinion, absolutely. I would never do it if there were other people in the car. But when you're alone, you gotta do what you gotta do.

More importantly, is it legal to drive barefoot? I have to be honest, in all of my times of foot freeing need, I never bothered to think about whether or not driving without shoes on was actually legal.

According to the website GetJerry.com, it's legal to drive barefoot in New Jersey, however, it isn't the safest thing since it "reduces traction your foot has on the pedal."

I'm going to take this as a sign to keep a spare pair of shoes in my trunk. They'll go great next to all of my reusable bags that are there.

New Jersey's Beach Commandments: Do's & Don'ts at the Beach

Beach Commandments - Sunscreen Control

Thou shalt not sit so close that you spray your sunscreen on me when you spray it on you.

Beach Commandments - Ocean Bathroom?

Thou shalt not pee in the ocean. We know some of you will anyway, but we still feel it necessary to say it.

Beach Commandments - Sandles with Socks

Thou shalt not wear socks with sandals on the beach. We may have a hard time getting people to pay attention to this one, it seems to be suddenly in fashion. It's still a bad look as far as we can see.

Beach Commandments - Beach Crowding

Thou shalt not sit right next to, or in front of another beachgoer (or, with them if you weren't invited), when there is plenty of other room available.

Beach Commandments - Swimsuit Choices

Thou shalt not judge others' swimsuit choices. With that said, have you looked in a mirror while you are wearing that thing?

Beach Commandments - What Rule About No Dogs?

Thou shalt not decide your dog is the exception to the no dogs on the beach rule. We love dogs, too, but there is a reason why dogs aren't allowed on a crowded beach.

Crumbl Cookies is the fastest growing cookie franchise in the Country, gaining explosive growth via effective social media marketing, regular new flavor introductions… and of course a delicious product.

Today is an unannounced “soft opening” day for Cherry Hill so that workers could get familiar with all of the systems and baking process. This weekend (Friday & Saturday) they jump right into a Grand Opening celebration!

The new location is in the large Garden State Park shopping plaza on Route 70. Crumbl is in the area of the new Costco, in a newer section of the complex which is home to Duluth Trading, and soon will be the new location of Petco.

The Cherry Hill location is owned by a Central New Jersey couple, Karen and Darrell Doucette. They have three children. While Crumbls is quickly becoming a big deal, the Doucette’s are promising a family operated experience for their customers.

UPDATE: Crumbl is coming to Turnersville (Washington Township) NJ also! Read about it here!

Crumbl Cookies – Rotating Menu Brings You Back For More

Crumbl Cookies was founded just FIVE years ago in Utah and already they have over 475 retail stores across every State in the USA. Consider that 2 of those 5 years was during a global pandemic… they are really a “hot” cookie franchise!

Founded by two cousins while one was attending Utah State University, originally they only offered a chocolate chip cookie.

The menu expanded to a variety of flavors. According to a Good Morning America episode last year they now have over 170 varieties of cookies!

BUT… there is an very interesting twist to the Crumbl cookie menu!

They only have 6 cookie flavors available each week, and rotate the choices each week. Only the original chocolate chip cookie is a consistent option!

Plus they regularly introduce new flavors which they promote on social media such as TikTok.

So if you have a favorite choice you just may have to return week after week until its available again… which I am sure is part of the Crumbl plan!

Crumbl’s growth is attributed to effective use of TikTok and influencers, as well as the regular introduction of new flavors which turns things into “Oh I have to try that!”. Customers wait for the Sunday night new flavor introductions and then numerous Tik Tok influencers share tasting experiences of the new flavors! (CNBC)

Luckily for consumers they make the cookie flavors available online for each store

Cherry Hill today is offering (and I assume through the weekend)

When I visited today there was an army of workers in the store. Partly because they are working on final training items, but also I expect it will be a very busy weekend!

I popped in on Thursday at noon and was fortunate to get right to the counter and order. But just 5 mins later as I waited for my cookies the line had quickly filled up to the door!

Crumbl cookies are packaged flat (side-by-side) in 4, 6 or 12 packs.

The distinctive pink box and oblong shaped box of the 4 pack is a recognizable part of the brand.

You can travel anywhere in the country, but those that have always say that New Jersey's the best when it comes to pizza, bread, and Italian food. Heck, some people would say it doesn't even matter what kind of food you're talking about; New Jersey just does it better.

One kind of food New Jersey is well-known for is our diner food. There's a reason they call the Garden State the "Diner Capital Of The World". Believe it or not, Jersey didn't invent the diner concept. We did, however, take the idea and run with it. There are so many diners here in the Garden State, South Jersey, in particular, that you'd be hard pressed to drive through a town that doesn't have at least three diner options for you to choose from. That's just the facts.

The same can be said for our beach towns. It's not only the mainland that gets to enjoy the glory and deliciousness that comes from a Jersey diner. Diners are so popular here in South Jersey, in fact, that people who vacation in the beach towns often will hit up social media to see which diners they should try while staying on the various islands.

Someone asked the people of the Wildwoods that question just the other day, and boy, do they have an opinion! Many of Wildwood's awesome diner options were thrown out there in the comments for consideration, but the one that people seemed to suggest the most was Vegas Diner. Vegas is technically in North Wildwood, but people from up and down the 5-mile island swear Vegas is currently the best.

You can read everyone's diner suggestions for up and down the Wildwoods HERE.

Silver Diner, Cherry Hill

Across from the Cherry Hill Mall is the Silver Diner. This isn't your typical diner -- this is food that has been elevated. On their menu are things like omelets with oaxaca black bean salsa, an organic bison pesto burger, and Carolina catfish and succotash.

Salem Oak Diner, Salem

Right on Broadway in Salem is the Salem Oak Diner, named after the city's famous tree. This is a perfect example of a small, local eatery where everyone knows your name -- and the sign on the roof is pretty cool, too.

Harley Dawn, Folsom

Out in the Penny Pot section of Folsom (not too far from Hammonton) is the Harley Dawn. This was a little place back in the day; it was demolished and they rebuilt a very modern restaurant. The food here is great and when blueberries are in season, they're all over the menu at Harley Dawn.

JJ's Diner, Egg Harbor Township

This diner at the old Cardiff Circle in Egg Harbor Township has seen a bunch of names over the years. Most recently, it's JJ's and it's getting high reviews online. Note that JJ's closes at 4, so stop by for breakfast or lunch.

Paulsboro Diner, Paulsboro

You don't need a ton of chrome and neon to win the hearts of locals. As one person said, "Food is tasty and prepared with love. Fair prices, clean, and cozy. If you like small, simple, family owned places you'll enjoy it here."

Meadows Diner, Blackwood

The Meadows Diner on Route 168 in Blackwood has been a staple in the area for decades, even back when it was the Blackwood Diner. The only thing that gets better marks than their food is their service.

3 South Jersey Restaurants Win 2022 Diners Choice Awards

Jaclyn says, "Fantastic service across the board! We’re vegetarians and had a lot of options (mostly apps and salads but portions were solid here so we left absolutely stuffed). Everything was so flavorful and no one rushed us out. Plus it’s a BYOB."

11 things that make a New Jersey diner a real diner

Gallery Credit: Jeff Deminski

A New Jersey diner cannot, ever, have linen tablecloths. The tabletops must be bare, with only paper placemats provided. Those paper placemats MUST have ads for local businesses printed on them. It helps if one of those local businesses is a bail bondsman.

A diner has the outer doors then the inner doors. In that vestibule must be at least one dumb game you plug quarters into. Something like the Love-o-meter where you place your finger and it reads and tells you if you are clammy, mild, wild, hot stuff, etc..

Breakfast anytime

To be designated a bonafide diner its menu should be laminated. It should also be oversized, perhaps as large as a sofa cushion. Its breakfast section alone should be longer than most restaurants’ entire menu. Also, if there’s a small, decade-old ketchup stain on the laminate, all the better for diner status.

Think about it. Don’t the most genuine of New Jersey diners stick to the tried and true method of the customer bringing the paper check to the cash register and settling up there? If you’re paying at the table and leaving tips inside the leather-bound fold instead of tucked under the edge of a plate, you’re in a restaurant.

A diner will have a display case showing off their tempting desserts like a window showing off prostitutes in Amsterdam. The three must-have desserts are lemon meringue pie, rice pudding and cheesecake.

Halloween is 83 days away (from this date August 9th, 2022), why not get ready early?

By the end of the month, Spirit Halloween Stores will be popping up and ready to go for October 31st, 2021.

Spirit Halloween Stores have been popping up for a long time at the Shore in empty stores in busy strip malls for several years. They are so popular everywhere. It's everything Halloween under one roof. I actually like just walking through. It's scary, fun, and FREE to walk in the store. Of course, nothing is free IN the store.

Some of these Spirit Halloween Stores will open in just a couple of weeks. I'm excited for Halloween this year. I think it's going to be the best ever. I love the spirit of everyone decorating for Halloween, it's become so, so popular. There are huge Halloween decorations from scary to so much fun.

These stores are opening in August at the Jersey Shore:

Spirit Halloween on Fischer Blvd. in Toms River

Spirit Halloween in Howell Township

Spirit Halloween in Manalapan

Spirit Halloween in West Long Branch

Take the kids to one of these stores and have fun with all their displays. My daughter used to be so scared. Now she loves it.

***Other years a Spirit Halloween Store popped up in Forked River and Bayville - I will keep you up to date if I find out any information on those stores. Spirit Halloween Stores are all over Monmouth and Ocean County.

Happy Halloween shopping!

New Jersey's Beach Commandments: Do's & Don'ts at the Beach
