What is Testosterone?

Testosterone is a crucial hormone for men and plays an important role throughout the male lifespan. Most of a male's testosterone is produced through the testicles. Also called the male sex hormone, testosterone starts playing its part during puberty.

When a male goes through puberty, testosterone helps males develop:

  • Facial Hair
  • Body Hair
  • Deeper Voice
  • Muscle Strength
  • Increased Libido
  • Muscle Density

As boys turn to men and men grow older, testosterone levels deplete naturally. Sometimes, events like injuries and chronic health conditions like diabetes can lower testosterone levels. Unfortunately, when a man loses too much T, it results in hypogonadism. When this happens, the testosterone must be replaced, or the male will suffer from symptoms like muscle loss, low libido, and even depression.

How Does TRT Work?

TRT is exactly what it sounds like: a treatment option for men that replaces testosterone so that your body regulates hormones properly and restores balance to your life. Also called androgen replacement therapy, TRT alleviates the symptoms that men experience with low T.

Originally lab-synthesized in 1935, testosterone has grown in popularity since it was produced. Today, TRT and other testosterone treatments are among the most popular prescriptions in the U.S.

Without getting too deep into the science, TRT works by giving your body the essential testosterone it needs to function correctly. As the primary androgen for both males and females, testosterone impacts many of the body's natural processes – especially those needed for overall health. For example, men with low T are more prone to serious problems like cardiovascular disease and even type-2 diabetes.

When your body quits making enough testosterone, it causes your health to suffer until a solution is presented. That's where TRT and anti-aging medicine for men can help. TRT helps balance your hormones and replenish your depleted testosterone. With time, your body will begin to heal, and many symptoms like low libido and irritability begin to diminish.

What Causes Low T?

For men, aging is the biggest contributor to lower testosterone levels, though there are other causes like obesity, drug abuse, testicular injuries, and certain prescribed medications. Sometimes, long-term health conditions like AIDS, cirrhosis of the liver, and kidney disease can lower testosterone levels.

When a man's testosterone levels drop significantly, it alters his body's ratio of estrogen and testosterone. Lower testosterone levels cause more abdominal fat, which in turn results in increased aromatase, which converts even more testosterone into estrogen.

If you're concerned that you might have low T, you're not alone. Millions of men in the U.S. feel the same way. The best way to find out if your testosterone is low is to get your levels tested.

For sustainable testosterone replacement therapy benefits, you must consult with hormone doctors and experts like those you can find at Global Life Rejuvenation. That way, you can find the root cause of your hormone problems, and our team can craft a personalized HRT plan tailored to your needs.

Low Sex Drive

One of the most common reasons that men choose TRT is because they have lost that "spark" with their partner. It's not easy for a man to hear that they're not performing like they used to. Intimacy is a powerful part of any relationship. When a once-healthy sex life dwindles, it can cause serious relationship issues.

The good news is that low libido doesn't have to be a permanent problem. TRT and anti-aging medicines help revert hormone levels back into their normal range. When this happens, many men have a more enjoyable life full of intimacy and sex drive.

Inability to Achieve and Maintain an Erection

Weak erections – it's an uncomfortable subject for many men in the U.S. to talk about. It's even worse to experience first-hand. You're in the midst of an intimate moment, and you can't do your part. Despite being perfectly normal, many men put blame and shame upon themselves when they can't achieve an erection. And while the inability to perform sexually can be caused by poor diet, obesity, and chronic health conditions, low testosterone is often a contributing factor.

Fortunately, weak erections are a treatable condition. The best way to regain your confidence and ability in bed is to speak with your doctor. Once any underlying conditions are discovered, options like TRT may be the best course of treatment.

Hair Loss

Loss of Strength and Muscle Mass

Do you find it harder and harder to work out and lift weights in the gym? Are you having problems lifting heavy items that you once had no problem lifting?

Recent studies show that when men are inactive, they lose .5% of muscle strength every year, from ages 25 to 60. After 60, muscle loss doubles every decade. While some muscle loss is common as men age, a significant portion can be tied to low testosterone levels. When a man's T levels drop, so does his muscle mass.

Testosterone is a much-needed component used in gaining and retaining muscle mass. That's why many doctors prescribe TRT Opa-locka, FL, for men having problems with strength. One recent study found that men who increased their testosterone levels using TRT gained as much as 2.5 pounds of muscle mass.

Whether your gym performance is lacking, or you can't lift heavy items like you used to, don't blame it all on age. You could be suffering from hypogonadism.

Hair Loss

If you're like millions of other men in their late 20s and 30s, dealing with hair loss is a reality you don't want to face. Closely related to testosterone decline and hormone imbalances, hair loss is distressing for many men. This common symptom is often related to a derivative of testosterone called DHT. Excess amounts of DHT cause hair follicles to halt their production, causing follicles to die.

Because hair located at the front and crown is more sensitive to DHT, it grows slower than other follicles and eventually stops growing permanently. Thankfully, TRT and anti-aging treatments for men in Opa-locka, FL, is now available to address hair loss for good.

While it's true that you can't change your genes, you can change the effects of low testosterone on your body. Whether you're suffering from thinning hair or hair loss across your entire head, TRT and other hormone therapies can stop hair loss and even reverse the process.

Gynecomastia

Also called "man boobs," gynecomastia is essentially the enlargement of male breast tissue. This increase in fatty tissue is often caused by hormonal imbalances and an increase in estrogen. For men, estrogen levels are elevated during andropause. Also called male menopause, andropause usually happens because of a lack of testosterone.

If you're a man between the ages of 40 and 55, and you're embarrassed by having large breasts, don't lose hope. TRT is a safe, effective way to eliminate the underlying cause of gynecomastia without invasive surgery. With a custom HRT and fitness program, you can bring your testosterone and estrogen levels back to normal before you know it.

Decreased Energy

Decreased energy was once considered a normal part of aging. Today, many doctors know better. Advances in technology and our understanding of testosterone show that low T and lack of energy often go hand-in-hand.

If you're struggling to enjoy activities like playing with your kids or hiking in a park due to lack of energy, it could be a sign of low T. Of course, getting tired is perfectly normal for any man. But if you're suffering from continual fatigue, a lack of enjoyment, or a decrease in energy, it might be time to speak with a doctor.

Whether you're having a tough time getting through your day or can't finish activities you used to love, TRT could help.

Lack of Sleep

A study from 2011 showed that men who lose a week's worth of sleep can experience lowered testosterone levels – as much as 15%, according to experts. Additional research into the topic found almost 15% of workers only get five hours of sleep (or less) per night. These findings suggest that sleep loss negatively impacts T levels and wellbeing.

The bottom line is that men who have trouble sleeping often suffer from lower testosterone levels as a result. If you find yourself exhausted at the end of the day but toss and turn all night long, you might have low T.

TRT and anti-aging medicines can restore your T levels back to normal, which can help you sleep better with proper diet and exercise.

Depression

You're feeling down about everything, and there's no solid explanation for why you're in such a crummy mood. Your daily life is great and full of success, but you can't help but feel unexcited and unmotivated. If you're experiencing symptoms like these, you may be depressed – and it may stem from low testosterone.

A research study from Munich found that men with depression also commonly had low testosterone levels. This same study also found that depressed men had cortisol levels that were 67% higher than other men. Because higher cortisol levels lead to lower levels of testosterone, the chances of severe depression increase.

Depression is a very real disorder and should always be diagnosed and treated by your doctor. One treatment option gaining in popularity is TRT for depression. Studies show that when TRT is used to restore hormone levels, men enjoy a lighter, more improved mood. That's great news for men who are depressed and have not had success with other treatments like anti-depression medicines, which alter the brain's chemistry.

Inability to Concentrate

Ask anyone over the age of 50 how their memory is, and they'll tell you it wasn't what it used to be. Memory loss and lack of concentration occur naturally as we age – these aren't always signs of dementia or Alzheimer's.

However, what many men consider a symptom of age may be caused by low testosterone. A 2006 study found that males with low T levels performed poorly on cognitive skill tests. These results suggest that low testosterone may play a part in reducing cognitive ability. If you're having trouble staying on task or remembering what your schedule is for the day, it might not be due to your age. It might be because your testosterone levels are too low. If you're having trouble concentrating or remembering daily tasks, it could be time to talk to your doctor.

Why? The aforementioned study found that participating men experienced improved cognitive skills when using TRT.

 TRT Opa-locka, FL

Weight Gain

Even though today's society is more inclusive of large people, few adults enjoy gaining weight as they age. Despite their best efforts, many men just can't shed the extra pounds around their midsections, increasing their risk of heart disease and cancer.

Often, male weight gain is caused by hormone imbalances that slow the metabolism and cause weight to pile on. This phase of life is called andropause and happens when there is a lack of testosterone in the body. Couple that with high cortisol levels, and you've got a recipe for flabby guts and double chins.

Fortunately, TRT treatments and physician-led weight loss programs can correct hormone imbalances and lead to healthy weight loss for men.

What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin is a synthetic hormone peptide, like GHRH, which triggers the release of growth hormones. When used under the care of a qualified physician, Sermorelin can help you lose weight, increase your energy levels, and help you feel much younger.

 HRT For Men Opa-locka, FL

Benefits of Sermorelin

Human growth hormone (HGH) therapy has been used for years to treat hormone deficiencies. Unlike HGH, which directly replaces declining human growth hormone levels, Sermorelin addresses the underlying cause of decreased HGH, stimulating the pituitary gland naturally. This approach keeps the mechanisms of growth hormone production active.

Benefits of Sermorelin include:

  • Better Immune Function
  • Improved Physical Performance
  • More Growth Hormone Production
  • Less Body Fat
  • Build More Lean Muscle
  • Better Sleep

What is Ipamorelin?

Ipamorelin helps to release growth hormones in a person's body by mimicking a peptide called ghrelin. Ghrelin is one of three hormones which work together to regulate the growth hormone levels released by the pituitary gland. Because Ipamorelin stimulates the body to produce growth hormone, your body won't stop its natural growth hormone production, which occurs with synthetic HGH.

Ipamorelin causes growth hormone secretion that resembles natural release patterns rather than being constantly elevated from HGH. Because ipamorelin stimulates the natural production of growth hormone, our patients can use this treatment long-term with fewer health risks.

 Ipamorelin Opa-locka, FL

One of the biggest benefits of Ipamorelin is that it is suitable for both men and women. It provides significant short and long-term benefits in age management therapies, boosting patients' overall health, wellbeing, and outlook on life. When growth hormone is produced by the pituitary gland using Ipamorelin, clients report amazing benefits.

Some of those benefits include:

  • Powerful Anti-Aging Properties
  • More Muscle Mass
  • Less Unsightly Body Fat
  • Deep, Restful Sleep
  • Increased Athletic Performance
  • More Energy
  • Less Recovery Time for Training Sessions and Injuries

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. — As Hurricane Ian slowly made its way toward Florida, Soldiers assigned to the 1-111th General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB) prepared for landfall by training with members of Task Force 1 in Opa-locka, Florida, on Sept. 28, 2022.

The Florida National Guard is regularly activated during hurricane season to provide defense support of civilian authorities, known as DSCA. During DSCA missions, the 1-111th GSAB, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, provides air medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) services and air movement operations.

Many Army Guard units can experience a significant difference between their combat and DSCA assignments. For example, an infantry unit’s focus may change from conventional warfare on a battlefield, to providing security in an area experiencing a widespread power failure after a natural disaster. However, the 1-111th GSAB’s role doesn’t change much from one scenario to the other.

“Our wartime and our DSCA missions are heavily related,” said Army Maj. Joshua Peek, battalion operations officer for the 1-111th GSAB. “We gain a lot of experience supporting DSCA missions that translates to our combat role. For our Soldiers piloting Blackhawk helicopters, conducting MEDEVAC operations in a search-and-rescue DSCA environment directly correlates to what they’d do overseas, which improves our crew-level proficiency.”

Peek said that air movement operations involving Chinook helicopters in combat-deployed environments are very similar to their work supporting search-and-rescue teams by delivering necessary supplies, equipment and relief personnel to areas affected by natural disasters.

“We’re trying to be proactive by preparing to maneuver behind the storm as it comes through Florida so we can provide assistance to people,” Peek said.

Ian represents Peek’s sixth or seventh hurricane activation — after so many, he couldn’t recall for sure — but hurricane season is also an opportunity for junior Florida Guard Soldiers to gain experience by applying their training to real missions.

“There’s a big sense of urgency when it comes to hurricane operations and preparing for something like Ian as a unit,” said Spec. Joshua Marshall, a Blackhawk helicopter repair/crew chief assigned to the 1-111th GSAB’s Company C. “We do an insane amount of training to make sure we’re ready to rescue Floridians if need be.”

Marshall said he has served as a crew chief for two years, but this is his first hurricane activation in that role.

“This definitely feels serious,” Marshall said. “Everybody is very focused because a real-world activation raises the stakes in ways that don’t happen on a typical drill weekend. When it comes time for the mission, it’s good to see everyone come together and get things done — it’s pretty awesome.”

GSAB Soldiers joined helicopter search-and-rescue teams from Florida Task Force 1, which resides under Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, to practice loading and unloading operations with Chinook helicopters.

Such operations don’t amount to simply throwing gear on a helicopter. They require that crew members devote attention to detail in properly securing equipment for safe transport. Depending on the type of aircraft, cargo may also need to be weighted and balanced to avoid center-of-gravity issues in flight that can endanger the crew, the aircraft and the mission.

Training on such skill sets not only prepares Florida Guard air crews for real-life missions, but when executed with civilian agencies, this training also helps improve interoperability.

“We were enjoying some significant collaboration pre-COVID, which was interrupted by the pandemic,” said Jeff Rouse, Florida Task Force 1 leader. “There’s been a reconstitution of those activities and I would expect they’ll only grow in the future. It’s a fairly seamless collaboration in terms of training.”

Rouse said that members of both agencies have a common language that helps them share experiences on different ways to complete the same objectives when working as part of a team.

“Both the Florida National Guard’s 1-111th GSAB and Task Force 1 bring their own unique strengths to a response effort like this,” Peek said. “It improves our capabilities by combining first responders with the National Guard in how we can respond to natural disasters.”

Szolack Taking Delivery Of New Cigarette 42 Auroris After Miami Boat Show

Perhaps best-known in the performance boating community as a collector of fine Skater Powerboats catamarans—and he still owns two as well as one MTI cat—Ron Szolack also has owned a slew of center consoles from Cigarette Racing Team. Not only does Szolack, who spend summers in Michigan and winters in South Florida, currently own a 2018 model-year 42 Huntress GTO Reserve, he has a new 42 Auroris coming.

If the current schedule holds, Ron Szolack’s new Cigarette 42 Auroris center console will be part of the Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run fleet.

The quad Mercury Racing 450R outboard-engine-equipped 42-footer is scheduled for delivery from the Opa-locka, Fla., center console and sportboat company after the Miami International Boat Show, February 15-19, just in time for the Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run the following weekend.

“During 2020 and 2021, the COVID years, I did a lot more boating in center consoles because I could take a lot more friends and Kahley, my girlfriend, loves center consoles,” Szolack explained. “I’ve owned all three Cigarette models—the 39 GTX, 41 GTR and 42 GTO Reserve.

Szolack’s 42 GTO Reserve currently is for sale.

“By far, the 42 GTO was my favorite with its tall freeboard, separate bathrooms and tons of space,” he continued. “I took it to the Cigarette rendezvous at the Lake of the Ozarks and then used it all summer last year before I brought it to Florida. So choosing the 42 Auroris was a no-brainer.”

Szolack’s new 42-footer originally was slated for delivery in time for the 2022 Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run in November, but was not ready. Though he’s confident it will be done in time for the Miami Boat Show Poker, he’s covered if it’s not. He still has his currently for-sale 42 GTO Reserve for back-up.

“Plus, I could always bring down one of my cats,” he said, then laughed. “I have three.”

Captured here on his Cigarette 42 GTO Reserve, Szolack and his girlfriend, Kahley, have been enjoying center consoles for the past few years.

OPA-LOCKA, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida staple is set to close soon. Now, officials and organizations are lending a helping hand to business owners in the community.

The city of Opa-Locka, along with non-profit organizations like the Miami Foundation, are supporting vendors of the Opa-Locka Hialeah Flea Market as the location is set to be shut down.

“This is a fabric of our family, so it was necessary for the City of Opa-Locka to step in and see what we could do and how we could facilitate the preservation of this important part of our community,” said Interim Opa-Locka City Manager Darvin Williams.

The flea market has been a fixture in the community for decades.

Earlier this year, vendors were told they had to leave after the market’s owners decided to redevelop the land.

“When we received the news, that was like something that we never expect,” said Isairas Chinicle, a vendor.

“Being there for a long time, having the clientele and just have to move overnight, it’s not easy,” said Deen Albadawi, another vendor.

Now, the city and non-profits are helping some vendors relocate to the market’s new spot, allowing them to stay in business.

“Each vendor will receive $500 to help kind of pay for those things to make the relocation a little bit easier,” said the Miami Foundation’s Brittany Morgan.

The market will move to an indoor location two blocks away, near Northwest 42nd Avenue and 135th Street.

“There’s gonna be air conditioning, there’s gonna be security, the rain and the flooding is not gonna be a problem like it was at the old location,” said Jona Landman, a representative for the new flea market.

The vendors said they’re grateful for the help and are happy to be back in business.

“Thanks to the City of Opa-Locka, they helped a lot, they supported us with the moving, and now they’re helping us for grants from Miami, so we appreciate that. Hopefully that goes through,” said Albadawi.

“Excited about everything, I mean, we keep going. Business is on, so we don’t have to get out. We’re here,” said Chinicle.

Opa-Locka has also given vendors 90 extra days to relocate.

Cleveland, OH, Jan. 13, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Flexjet Inc, a global leader in subscription-based private aviation, today announced that it will open three additional private jet terminals, bringing its total to eight within the U.S. The new terminals will be located at Miami’s Opa-Locka Executive Airport (ICAO: KOPF), Montana’s Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (ICAO: KBZN) and Arizona’s Scottsdale Airport (ICAO: KSDL). The Miami terminal also will serve as the seasonal hub for Flexjet’s South Florida helicopter service, an industry first.

“More people than ever are electing to travel by private aircraft. Expanding our private terminals in top locations ensures a more intimate experience for our owners.” said Flexjet Chief Experience Officer Megan Wolf. “This increase in traffic means the large general aviation Fixed Based Operators (FBOs) in popular departure and arrival points are more hectic than in the past. Flexjet’s Owners-only lounges offer comfort and amenities to ease the transition from the jet to your final destination.”

Flexjet’s expanded private jet terminal network is part of a larger commitment by the company to build out its physical infrastructure. This includes one of private aviation’s largest and most diverse aircraft fleets, its largest controlled maintenance network and a state-of-the-art global operations control center slated to open in 2023. Together, they offer a unique global aviation infrastructure system that helps meet fast-growing demand.

Flexjet’s Private Jet Terminal at Miami’s Opa-Locka Executive Airport

Flexjet’s Opa-Locka Executive Airport private jet terminal is expected to be the first of the newly announced terminals to open. Located at the general aviation airport nearest to downtown Miami, the new facility bolsters the support services provided by fixed-base operators at the airport and offers Flexjet Owners a wide range of additional amenities. These include fully stocked bar and café stations, high-speed Wi-Fi access, modern conference rooms and dedicated concierges.

The Miami terminal also will serve as the seasonal hub for Flexjet’s South Florida helicopter service, which has begun for the 2023 winter season. Flexjet launched its helicopter division to provide last-mile transport for Owners of Flexjet aircraft traveling from airports to their final destinations, a door-to-door travel solution not available through any other provider in the U.S. Flexjet Owners and passengers will be able to travel directly from the landing of their Flexjet aircraft to their final South Florida destinations, avoiding local traffic and delays. In addition, these Sikorsky S-76 super mid-sized helicopters have a range of up to 300 nautical miles.

Flexjet Owners and passengers also will be able to use its helicopter service to access additional locations within the region such as its many entertainment, sports and lifestyle venues. The service is provided by the Sikorsky S-76, one of the most respected and longest running-production helicopters, with a heritage of more than 40 years and 7.5 million hours of safe flight.

Eli Flint, president of Flexjet’s private helicopter division, said, “Industrywide, there has been little integrated connection yet between fixed-wing operations and urban air mobility. A journey isn’t just from one airport to another; it should go beyond that to enable a passenger to access off-airport destinations, or even airports too small for jets. By definition, a helicopter’s utility transports passengers faster, closer and more directly to the final destination. Flexjet’s innovative helicopter service will provide a complementary step that will save travelers time and add convenience.”

In addition to the upcoming location in Miami and an existing South Florida terminal at Naples Airport in Florida (ICAO: KAPF), Flexjet offers private jet terminals at high-demand destinations including New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport (ICAO: KTEB); Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York (ICAO: KHPN); Dallas Love Field in Dallas, Texas (ICAO: KDAL); and Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, California (ICAO: KVNY).

MIAMI - Opa-locka could have been another Coral Gables, built on a dream, instead, the city's architecture is based on the Arabian Nights.

The city was the brainchild of pioneer aviator and visionary Glenn Curtis.

With street names like Ali Baba, Sharazad, Aladdin, and Arabia, the Moorish-style building are true works of art.

Opa-locka, like Coral Gables, was one of Florida's planned communities, however, the dream that Curtis promoted was wiped out by the 1926 hurricane and Florida Land Boom Crash.

Proud of his city, current Mayor John Taylor told CBS4News, "The foundation of Opa-locka was built on art. We have the most Moorish architecture in the Western Hemisphere."

And the mayor is thrilled that a huge art event is coming to his city.

The Art of Transformation project is a major headline in the Opa-locka story. There has never been an event of this magnitude celebrating Black art during Miami Art Week anywhere in South Florida.

"You would not normally see this in Opa-locka. The fact that it is coming here, it makes my heart leap with excitement," says the mayor.

Visitors this year will be greeted with art exhibits, a pop-up restaurant in the old train station. Art collections straight from Africa and Haiti, four days of serious art three blocks long in the heart of Opa-locka.

Local residents are elated. Kimly Mack told us, "I am excited for my grandkids. They do art from home. It will be somewhere they can express themselves and maybe in the future."

Many of the original Moorish-style buildings remain and are on the National Register of Historic Places.

In the 1940's-50's, the city transitioned from a white population to primary African American. Along the way, there have been struggles with poverty, crime, and corruption. All issues plagued the working-class community.

"Opa-locka has had a dark cloud over it for a while, but I am so excited with this event that it will bring light on the city," says the mayor.

For resident Jasmeka Wilson, the Art of Transformation event represents an opportunity for her 5th grader. "I have a son in the 5th grade and he calls himself an artist, so it is going to be a blessing so he can see art and maybe be inspired."

There are high hopes for The Art of Transformation Project according to the mayor.

"Bringing this to our community is just going to propel us up to where I know we are going to go."

The Art of Transformation runs from December 1st through December 4th along Opa-locka Boulevard.
