If you're ready to get back to loving your life with more energy, confidence, and positivity, medical weight loss with peptide therapy may be for you. But to truly understand the benefits of peptides like Semaglutide, it's important you grasp what peptide therapy is and how it benefits your body.

Treatment in Glenn Ridge

Treatment in Glenn Ridge, NJ

Many individuals turn to peptide therapy to enhance their overall wellbeing by boosting hormones. Different types of peptides can target different areas of health, such as collagen peptides that can help improve skin, hair, and gut health.

Other peptides, such as AOD 9604, CJC 1295, and Semaglutide in Glenn Ridge, NJ, are incredibly beneficial for losing weight. Compared to vitamin supplements, peptide therapy works differently as peptides are already part of the proteins in our bodies, making them easier to absorb and benefit from. Conversely, our bodies can sometimes fail to absorb all the nutrients present in multivitamins, leading to their excretion through urine.

However, it's important to note that weight loss is a complex process that involves various factors like age, genetics, lifestyle, exercise, and diet. While peptides like Semaglutide can provide much-needed assistance in achieving your weight loss goals, they are most effective when combined with healthy dietary choices, regular exercise routines, and overall healthier lifestyle choices.

If you've already tried different weight loss plans and diets but haven't had any success, medical weight loss with peptide therapy may provide that extra boost you need to realize your goals.

What is Semaglutide Treatment in Glenn Ridge, NJ?

If you're looking to lose weight and keep it off, diet and exercise are important, but it can be difficult to stick to a routine. For busy adults and parents, Semaglutide can be a helpful tool for weight loss. This injection, approved by the FDA for diabetes and obesity, works by stimulating GLP-1 receptors in the brain to aid in weight loss and improve long-term health.

You may be wondering to yourself, "That sounds great, but how does this type of peptide work?" Semaglutide acts like glucagon in your body, which signals to your brain that you're full and don't need to eat anymore. When you take Semaglutide, and you try to overeat, your body waves a proverbial red flag as if to say, "That's enough."

Semaglutide also slows down digestion, reducing unnecessary snacking throughout the day. By reducing glucose spikes after meals, it reduces inflammation, which is important for overall health. Additionally, Semaglutide helps your pancreas secrete insulin, regulates the glucose levels in your body, and even has anti-aging and longevity properties. If you're struggling to lose weight, peptide therapies for weight loss like Semaglutide can be an invaluable addition to your weight loss plan from Global Life Rejuvenation.

Who Should Consider Semaglutide Therapy in Glenn Ridge, NJ?

There are multiple medications available to combat obesity by suppressing appetite and promoting weight loss. However, Semaglutide stands out as an exceptional option.

A recent study of 2,000 obese adults examined the effects of Semaglutide when combined with a diet and exercise program. The results were compared to those who only made lifestyle changes without taking Semaglutide. After 68 weeks, it was found that half of the participants using Semaglutide lost 15% of their body weight, with nearly a third losing 20%. In contrast, those who only made lifestyle changes lost an average of 2.4% of their weight.

It's obvious, then, that Semaglutide is a safe and effective supplement for your weight loss journey with Global Life Rejuvenation. But who is the ideal patient who should be taking it?

If you have a body mass index (BMI) of 27kg/m2 or higher and at least one weight-related condition, such as high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol, or if your BMI is 30kg/m2 or higher, the FDA recommends Semaglutide for weight loss.

Healthy Eating Tips While Taking Semaglutide

As medical weight loss experts, one thing our doctors and practitioners know at Global Life Rejuvenation is that true weight loss isn't dictated by medicines. It's achieved by sticking to a combo of exercise, healthy life choices, and healthy eating habits. From there, peptides like Semaglutide in Glenn Ridge, NJ are great for taking your weight loss efforts to the next level of success.

One area where many patients fail in this process is with their diet. If you're considering Semaglutide treatment, keep these diet tips in mind.

Eat Whole Foods

Eat Whole Foods

To enhance your dietary habits, a practical approach is to concentrate on consuming whole foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. These food items are rich in nutrients and can provide a feeling of fullness and satisfaction while also promoting your overall wellbeing.

Be Mindful When You Eat

Be Mindful When You Eat

Eating mindfully involves being fully present and engaged during meals. This entails taking the time to enjoy the flavor of your food, being aware of your body's hunger and fullness signals, and avoiding distractions like electronics or television.

Keep Your Body Hydrated

Keep Your Body Hydrated

To maintain good health and support weight loss, it's crucial to drink plenty of water. It's recommended to drink at least 8-10 cups of water daily. You may also try adding low-calorie drinks like herbal tea or infused water to keep things interesting.

Meal-Prepping

Use Meal Prepping to Your Advantage

Planning your meals in advance is an effective approach to maintaining a healthy diet. Set aside some time each week to plan your meals and snacks, keeping in mind to incorporate a balance of protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. This will prevent impulsive food choices and guarantee that you have nutritious options available when hunger strikes.

Other Peptide Therapies and Medicines for Medical Weight Loss in Glenn Ridge, NJ

Unlike many medical weight loss clinics, which only offer cookie-cutter weight loss plans and one or two additional fat-busting solutions, Global Life Rejuvenation provides access to new, innovative supplements and medicines. If you're used to fad diets and "quick" weight loss plans, peptides like AOD 9604 and others may be new to you. To help build your foundation of healthy living knowledge, let's take a look at a few of the most popular weight-loss peptides and medicines available at Global Life Rejuvenation.

AOD 9604 for Weight Loss

AOD 9604 for Weight Loss

Often combined with Semaglutide regimens, AOD 9604 is known to promote fat breakdown, inhibit lipogenesis, and support tendons and cartilage. However, most recently, it has gained popularity due to its ability to boost metabolism and aid in burning fat.

What sets AOD 9604 apart is that it stimulates the pituitary gland without affecting tissue growth or blood sugar levels. Additionally, it can burn fat without causing overeating, making it a viable option for obese men and women who are trying to implement better eating habits.

Interestingly, AOD 9604 activates your body's fat-burning processes without requiring an HGH receptor. It also releases obese fat cells and reduces the accumulation of new fat cells. By helping to regulate blood sugar and manage insulin levels, AOD 9604 is excellent for weight loss but also for other maladies like inflammation.

Some conditions that this powerful peptide can help address include the following:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Damaged Cartilage
  • Arthritis
CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for Weight Loss

CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for Weight Loss

This medical weight loss supplement Is technically a combo of two peptides. These substances work by stimulating your pituitary gland to produce more of your body's natural human growth hormone, which is secreted during both waking and sleeping periods.

This results in increased protein synthesis and levels of insulin-like growth factors. As hormone secretagogues, they help release hormones into circulation while mimicking the pituitary gland's production. Extensive research has been conducted on the effects of CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin. As a tool for medical weight loss, it has shown very promising results.

That's because when growth hormone levels increase, nutrients are transported through the body faster, more fat is burned, and weight management becomes simpler. Additionally, because CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin increase the amount of growth hormone in your body, it stimulates the breakdown of triglycerides in adipocytes, leading to improved fat metabolism and reduced abdominal fat.

Benefits of CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin for weight loss include:

  • Weight Loss
  • Reduction in Body Fat
  • Boosted Metabolism
  • More Energy
  • Enhanced Immune System
  • More
MIC Injections for Weight Loss

MIC Injections for Weight Loss

A Methionine Inositol Choline (MIC) injection is a mixture of lipotropics that aid in fat breakdown. The key components - methionine, inositol, and choline - work together to metabolize fat cells and eliminate stored fat deposits in the liver and body. Methionine is an important amino acid, inositol contributes to proper cell formation, and choline is a water-soluble nutrient that promotes healthy liver function. When combined, these compounds may help reduce body fat.

When used in conjunction with a medical weight loss plan from Global Life Rejuvenation, MIC injections can be a powerful addition to reclaiming your health and wellbeing.

7-Keto DHEA for Weight Loss

In the body, 7-keto-DHEA is produced from dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which is a hormone made by glands near your kidneys. However, unlike DHEA, 7-keto-DHEA is not converted into androgen and estrogen in your body. Instead, 7-keto-DHEA is used orally or topically to boost your body's metabolism. It also helps convert more of your energy into heat, instead of storing it in your body as fat, which can accumulate with time and lifestyle choices.

Much like Semaglutide treatment in Glenn Ridge, NJ, 7-keto-DHEA has been shown to be very effective for weight loss as well as a host of other issues. Additional benefits of taking 7-keto-DHEA may include the following:

  • Weight Loss
  • Improvement to Lean Muscle Mass
  • Boosted Thyroid Activity
  • Enhanced Memory
  • Anti-Aging Treatment

Long-time Glen Ridge resident, Paul Brewster knew that the area needed a place for good food and community. In 2007, he opened Fitzgerald’s 1928 after a successful career as Senior Vice President at Compass Group. The quaint tavern located at 13 Herman Street in Glen Ridge has been serving up American food and a strong community for close to two decades. We had a chance to chat with Paul’s son, Ryan, who is the restaurant’s general manager, to learn more about the space and how Fitzgerald’s 1928 came to be. Read on to hear more about this local staple.

In 2007, Paul Brewster and two of his friends decided to start Fitzgerald’s 1928. “My father, Paul Brewster, opened the restaurant with two friends from Glen Ridge in 2007 and we have been happily serving the surrounding community since,” Ryan shared with The Montclair Girl. Fitzgerald’s 1928 has become a go-to place in the community for local events. “Whether it’s the annual Fitzgerald’s Lager Run, our ugly sweater party during the holidays, or a Friday night after a sports game, we pride ourselves on being a fixture in the community,” Ryan said.

Fitzgerald’s 1928 provides a comfortable atmosphere with a twist on classic, American fare. “We are probably most known for our classic pub fare – great burgers, the best buffalo wings, and a meatloaf that reminds you of your grandmother,” Ryan said. He describes the menu as “approachable and comfortable, but not always predictable.”

Fitzgerald’s 1928 has lunch and dinner service seven nights a week and brunch on weekends. The menu has appetizers, salads, grilled pizzas, sandwiches, and entrees. In addition to the menu, the restaurant has specials every night of the week and Ryan says this is the highlight for many of the guests. “Our creativity shines in the specials we run seven nights a week. I think that is what keeps our regulars coming back and sparks the interest of new guests. That creativity doesn’t just stop in the kitchen. We have an unbelievably talented bar team and a menu that features not only the classics but also seasonal and weekly features,” Ryan shared.

The restaurant recently made some changes to its brunch menu. Ryan gave further insight. “We just revamped our brunch menu to incorporate a little more of our classic Fitzgerald’s menu and we expanded service to both Saturday and Sunday. Brunch also features some great deals — $6 brunch cocktails and $25 bottles of wine. We have something for everyone whether you are trying to watch the game and want bar food or need a full serving of Chef Roy’s Lemon Ricotta Pancakes.”

The kitchen is run by renowned chef and New Jersey native, Chey Roy Handler. If the last name sounds familiar, it’s because his sister is celebrity comedienne, Chelsea Handler. Chef Roy is no stranger to the limelight himself. He has appeared on cooking competition shows like Chopped and Chef’s Kitchen Takeover. Ryan brags about Chef Roy saying, “his experience is extensive and his approach to his work is cool, calm, and collected with a little flair. I highly recommend getting your hands on his pignoli cookies.”

Fitzgerald’s 1928 is more than an average pub. Part of the reason Paul Brewster created the restaurant was so that locals could have a place to come and connect with family, friends, and neighbors. Whether a night out for a cozy dinner or to celebrate a life event, Fitzgerald’s 1928 always delivers.

Attached to Fitzgerald’s 1928 is an event space called The Sidecar. “We have a fully private event space known as The Sidecar adjacent to the restaurant. It is perfect for just about any occasion from a full-plated dinner to a standing cocktail reception. The room is fully equipped with an audio-visual system which is perfect for a meeting or just to put the game up on the screen,” Ryan shared.

The restaurant itself can also accommodate gatherings like private happy hours and group dinners. If hosting something outside the restaurant is more convenient, Fitzgerald’s 1928 provides catering options. “Our catering menu, available online with 48 hours’ notice is the best of what we do in-house but in a take-out format. Perfect if you’re looking to host a Super Bowl party or an event at home. Chef Roy is great to work with so if you don’t see something you want, send us a note we are happy to work with you,” Ryan said.

Fitzgerald’s 1928 is happy to host guests from all over, emphasizing building community. Its American comfort food gives a nostalgic feel while keeping guests on their toes with unexpected flavors and offerings. Be sure to follow the team on Instagram here to keep up with events and specials.

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — The Glen Ridge High School football program has enjoyed success over the past few seasons.

Chris Strumolo, who recently has been named the new GRHS head football coach, is excited to help build on that success.

“It feels great,” said Strumolo about being the new Ridgers head coach, in an interview with The Glen Ridge Paper. “I’m excited about the opportunity in front of me. I think it’s great timing in my life and to just help move the program forward over there.”

Strumolo spent the past five years as an assistant coach for the Caldwell University sprint football team, where he coached the linemen.

A 1992 Nutley High School graduate, Strumolo played for then-head coach Rich San Filippo at Nutley. San Filippo incidentally was also a former Glen Ridge HS head football coach, leading the Ridgers to their last state sectional championship in 1982.

After serving as an assistant coach at Weequahic HS, where he was on the staff that won the 2006 Central Jersey, Group 2 state title, Strumolo became the head coach at Belleville High School for three seasons from 2008-10. In his first season at Belleville, Strumolo led the Buccaneers to a 5-5 final record, capped by a 29-22 home win over rival Nutley on Thanksgiving. It was the last time Belleville has beaten Nutley.

After Belleville, Strumolo was an assistant coach at Newark Central High School.

Strumolo replaces Manj Singh, who was the Ridgers head coach for the past two seasons. Singh stepped down to become the new head football coach at Verona High School. In Singh’s first year in 2022, the Ridgers ended the season by beating Hawthorne, 36-13, in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s North Group 1 regional invitational tournament championship game at Hurrell Field to finish 5-5, after overcoming a 1-3 start to the campaign. The regional invitational tournament consists of teams that just missed qualifying for the state playoffs.

This past season, the Ridgers again started 1-3, but bounced back and qualified for the North 2, Group 1 state sectional playoffs for the first time since 2017. Glen Ridge, seeded seventh, upset No. 2 seed Waldwick/Midland Park, 33-26, in the quarterfinals for its first state playoff victory since 1982. The Ridgers then fell to Shabazz in the semifinals to end with a 6-5 record.

Strumolo has always been impressed with Glen Ridge’s football tradition, recalling San Filippo’s days as the Ridgers head coach. Strumolo also was always familiar with Glen Ridge when he was an assistant coach at Central.

“When I was at Central, we played them a bunch of times,” Strumolo said. “Good kids, played the game hard, played the game the right way. We had some great games with them. They were kids that never backed down and they were tough kids. I just loved the way they played.”

Strumolo is excited about moving the program forward, developing the players as student-athletes and to get the most out of their potential.

”The wins and losses will come, if you build them the right way, based on hard work and being dedicated and doing things the right way,” Strumolo said. “Hopefully, there will be some successes in our future.”

On Saturday afternoon, Verona football traveled to Glen Ridge to play in a competition that was as challenging physically as it was mentally. The teams dueled through frigid rain and thick mud, and though Verona fought for every yard, they came up just short of a victory.

Verona elected to receive the ball at the start of the game, and #23 Zach Garmont returned the ball to the 40-yard line. An offsides penalty on Glen Ridge originally moved Verona forward, but a botched snap followed up by a sideline interception caused the drive to end in a turnover. Tackles by #22 Dean Algieri as well as penalties by Glen Ridge forced a Ridger punt to the 15-yard line. On offense, rushes by #44 Bodie Maisano got Verona to the 35-yard line. Verona’s drive however resulted in a punt due to numerous gang tackles. While punting, a penalty on Verona brought the team into their own red zone, but another punt by #2 Kieran Patel led Glen Ridge to start at the 38-yard line. Glen Ridge’s counter-offensive would be stopped by tackles from Maisano, Algieri, and #52 Shane Costigan. During the fourth down punt, #12 Ethan Fersch put out his hands and just managed to block it, giving Verona great field possession at the 25-yard line. A rush by Maisano got Verona within 5 yards of a touchdown and on the next play #10 Connor Demasi threw a pass to Garmont to give Verona the lead. Patel’s extra point made the score 7-0. When kicking off to Glen Ridge, a reverse return was very close to being a score, but #13 Salvatore Santos-DiTrani saved a touchdown by tackling the returner #3 Brad Foster at the 50. Gang tackles, penalties, and individual tackles by #11 Jesse Wagner resulted in another Glen Ridge punt. This punt was out of bounds, so Verona started at the 50. To close out the quarter, Maisano barrelled through defenders to get Verona to the 45.

In the second quarter, a botched snap followed by a pass to Garmont that just nearly missed resulted in Patel punting the ball to the Glen Ridge 6-yard line. Tackles by Fersch, Maisano, and #81 John Paul Alfano, as well as another botched snap forced Glen Ridge to punt back to Verona at the 48-yard line. A 5 yard rush by Maisano got Verona to the Ridger 47. Another rush by Maisano and a catch from Garmont moved the chains past the 30-yard line. However, a fourth down conversion by Verona fell incomplete and Glen Ridge took over the ball. Nevertheless, Ridger incompletions and a tackle for a loss by Maisano caused a Glen Ridge punt to the 10. Passes to #5 Gianluca Checchetto, as well as rushes by Maisano did generate some yardage, but Verona was short of the first down and punted to the Glen Ridge 39-yard line. Tackles by Fersch, Garmont, and #20 Jayden Nigro, as well as good pass coverage by Wagner, developed a Glen Ridge turnover at the 20-yard line. A rush by Maisano capped off the first half with Verona still holding a one score lead.

Verona kicked off to start the second half and Glen Ridge began their drive slightly past their 30. Gang tackles by Verona held back the drive, but penalties on Verona kept it going. Finally, a screen by Glen Ridge resulted in their first touchdown of the day. A successful 2-point conversion gave Glen Ridge an 8-7 lead. A return from Garmont started the drive at the 32-yard line. Jumps and maneuvering by Garmont nearly got Verona to the 50, but it was called back to the 35 due to a penalty. Another penalty on Verona moved them back 5 yards to the 30. Multiple consistent rushes by Garmont then finally got Verona across the 50-yard line into Ridger territory. Unfortunately for Verona, its progress would stop there as swarms of Glen Ridge defenders limited Verona’s rushing ability. Patel’s punt then brought the ball to the 13-yard line. Group tackles by Verona brought the 3rd quarter to a finish.

At the start of the 4th quarter, tackles by Costigan and Santos-DiTrani looked like they were going to cause a Glen Ridge stop, but a pass across the middle kept the drive going. Finally, a tackle by Maisano, followed by pressure in the pocket from #50 Aidan Cifaretto forced the conclusion of Glen Ridge’s drive. A jumping return from Garmont got Verona to the 25. After an incomplete pass, a sack, and a penalty, Verona found itself in a third and long. A 40-yard pass to Garmont then brought Verona back nearly to the 50. A rush by Maisano crossed midfield and Verona looked poised to put points on the board. Unfortunately, a wet ball slipped out backfield and was recovered by Glen Ridge. Verona’s defense refused to give up and tackles by Alfano, Wagner, and Costigan turned the ball over one more time. Despite a 7 yard pass to Garmont, Verona could not convert on fourth down and Glen Ridge kneeled the ball to close out the game, an 8-7 loss for Verona.

“The loss against Glen Ridge was just an ugly loss,” said Captain Shane Costigan. “ We can say there were excuses but to win a football game you have to want it, and to win against Hanover we need to want to win.”

Next Friday, Verona will take on rival Hanover Park at Sellitto Field at 7 p.m. The game will be Verona’s senior night as Verona football seeks to give the students an underdog victory on this day. One thing is for certain, and that is Verona will continue to give 110% to close out this year.
