Led by Samuelsson and with a menu “emblematic of his personal cooking style”, Marcus Live!’s menu features dished like Miso Halibut, Old Bay Crab Cakes, and Jerk Pork Belly Wraps.

There are also large-format, shareable options like The Garden State Jubilee, featuring grilled shrimp, bbq brisket, grilled ribeye, and lobster tail.

In addition to the dining options, the bar will feature an “impressive wine list, local craft beers, and creative cocktails”.

It’s expected to open in early December – once open it will be located at Court A, Level 3.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Things seemed to be very relaxed as the Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils took turns testing the ice on the recently installed rink at MetLife Stadium in preparation for two big games in the NHL’s Stadium Series this weekend.

Instead of loosening up for the workouts, each of the teams skated onto the ice and gathered for team photos. The practices were a little different.

The Flyers, who had arrived after playing a game in Toronto on Thursday night, seemed to be stretching their legs and getting used to the ice a day before facing the Devils on Saturday night.

The Rangers and Devils, who played at home on Thursday, ran some full-speed drills although the Devils were on the ice about 20 minutes less than their Metropolitan Division rivals, who will play the Islanders on Sunday. The Islanders practiced on the surface on Thursday.

After each practice, many players got to skate with the families and children on the ice, something that rarely happens.

“You just never know where these games go,” Flyers coach John Tortorella said. “There’s a lot of things going around the players. It’s my job just to just get the team ready to play after they’re done with their families, just to get them ready to play. A very important game for us.”

The Rangers have opened an eight-point lead in the division, while the Flyers are in third place with 65 points. The Devils and Islanders are two and three points out of the last playoff spot, respectively.

As expected, the Rangers were the loosest team after the workouts.

Defenseman Jacob Trouba was asked about the organization being 4-0 in outdoor games and new coach Peter Laviolette sporting an 0-3-1 mark in the series.

“We need a new coach,” Trouba quipped. As he was leaving the news conference, Trouba asked everyone not to tell Laviolette, who was up next on the podium.

Fellow Rangers defenseman Adam Fox grew up on nearby Long Island and he is thrilled to be playing in the game which will be played in an 80,000-seat stadium that is co-owned by the Jets and Giants of the NFL. The crowds for the hockey games will be about 70,000, the league said

“I didn’t go to too many, football games,” Fox said. “I grew up a Jets fan. We came to the the home opener for the Giants, though, this year. Didn’t go all that well. Hopefully we have a little better result than that.”

The Giants lost their home opener 40-0 to the Dallas Cowboys and missed the playoffs, a year after making the postseason for the first time since 2016.

The Flyers have been one of the surprise teams of the NHL season and they are using the Jets’ locker room.

Forward Cam Atkinson, a 34-year-old Connecticut native, will be playing in his first outdoor NHL game. He did play in one at Fenway Park for Boston College.

Looking around the locker room after the workout, Atkinson asked reporters: “Where’s Aaron Rodgers’ locker?” He wasn’t near it.

The Devils had the last practice of the evening and they and family members were finishing up at 7:30 p.m.

“I thought it was really good and I think they feel it’s going to be better tomorrow,” Tortorella said of the ice.

Devils coach Lindy Ruff told his players to embrace being on the big stage, while understanding its importance.

“We’re chasing them down for a spot in the playoffs” Ruff said after the workout. “Any time you get an opportunity to play a team that is in one of the spots ahead of you, it’s a big game. I think we realize that and they realize that. We need the two points. We need every point we can get.”

Veteran defenseman Brendan Smith has played in a couple of NHL outdoor games and players have approached him to discuss what its like. Smith tells teammates is to enjoy the experience and try to ignore the distractions.

“”You’re there trying to win two points,” Smith said. ‘That’s really what we’re gonna do now. It’s an amazing atmosphere. It’s so fun to be a part of this. I’ve been lucky to be a part of a lot of them, and they’re all my favorite games.”

They are even better when you win.

The 2026 World Cup final will take place at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium to cap a tournament set in cities across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, soccer's international governing body FIFA announced Sunday.

The final will be played on July 19 at the East Rutherford, N.J., stadium. Mexico City will host the opener of the 104-game tournament at Estadio Azteca on June 11.

During the event, though, the 82,500-capacity stadium will be officially referred to as the "New York New Jersey Stadium" to comply with the FIFA's policy against non-sponsor corporate names.

It's a World Cup of firsts. For the first time, the tournament will expand to include 48 teams, up from the 32 team-format held for the past seven tournaments. It will also be the first time the tournament is staged across three host nations. Beyond the New York-New Jersey complex, 15 other major cities were picked to host the World Cup matches.

MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Jets and Giants, hosted the Super Bowl in 2014 and the Copa América Centenario final in 2016.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy celebrated the announcement on social media.

"As a lifelong soccer fan, I am thrilled to announce that the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final will be hosted by New Jersey and New York City!" Gov. Murphy said in a tweet.

When local officials first made their pitch to play host for the World Cup final, they emphasized the stadium's proximity to New York City as a media hub with central access to hotels, restaurants, entertainment and international flights.

As for the U.S. Men's National Team, they will have the fortune of sticking to the same time zone to start their World Cup journey. The team's first match is at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium on June 12. After that, they'll head to Seattle for their second match, before returning to LA for the final group play round on June 26.

"It's great to finally learn where we will be for the group stage. It really starts to bring things to life," USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter said during a press conference. "We would have been happy with any of the venues because we know the home support is going to be incredible."

Whether or not his team makes it to the final game, Berhalter — a New Jersey native — says of the venue pick: "It's a dream come true for me."

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Two games in two days. A concert. Four Metropolitan Division rivals separated by about a 100-mile corridor that runs from New York to Philadelphia. Roughly 140,000 fans sitting in bone-chilling temperatures waiting to shout for a goal or great save.

Hockey is coming back to the New Jersey Meadowlands in a big way this weekend with MetLife Stadium serving as the venue for the NHL’s Stadium Series.

The New Jersey Devils are scheduled to play the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night and the Rangers and Islanders will face off Sunday afternoon in an all-NYC contest.

While these so-called pond-hockey games has been on the league’s program annually since 2008, this installment may be a little different. These games will influence the playoff hopes for all the teams with less than two months left in the regular season.

The Rangers have a little wiggle room at the top of the division but the Flyers, Devils and Islanders are in a tight fight for playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. None can afford an off night, even in what might be a once-in-lifetime game for some players.

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly wasn’t sure if any of the 39 previous outdoor games had as much playoff implication.

“That always means a good game or good games, as the case may be. I think that’s fantastic,” Daly said Wednesday as work crews were putting in the tempered glass around the recently installed rink that runs between the 17-yard lines.

Hall of Famer goaltender Martin Brodeur is quite familiar with the Meadowlands. After the Rockies moved from Colorado to New Jersey for the 1982-83 season, the sport complex served as the Devils’ home for 25 years before leaving for Newark in 2007-08. Each of the team’s three Stanley Cups (1995, 2000 and ’03) were won in the former wetlands.

In a little more than two years, the Meadowlands will have another big game, the World Cup Final.

Brodeur, who started for the Devils in an outdoor game at Yankee Stadium against the Rangers in 2014, said the organization wants the players to embrace the game.

“It’s no different in the Stanley Cup Finals,” Brodeur said. “If they are able to adjust to this, when it’s time for them to deal with the Stanley Cup Final they’ll see that it’s the same thing. It’s a lot of distractions. You gotta block those noises.”

It’s the first time the league scheduled outdoor games on consecutive days with fans. The February 2021 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, had no fans because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Yankee Stadium was the site for two games in 2014 but over three days.

“It’s something that you circle on the calendar when you find out you’re going to be involved in one and try your best to treat it like another game,” Flyers forward Travis Konecny said.

For many, it’s a way of bringing back warm feelings. It reminds them of either playing with family or friends, when sides were chosen by throwing sticks in the middle of the ice for selection.

A lot of it had to do with where you lived.

Devils coach Lindy Ruff grew up on a cattle ranch in Alberta, Canada. When the pond froze, he and his brothers hit the ice and played with hard sponge puck. When it got warmer and the loft in the barn was clear of hay, they played there, using balled socks sewed together as the puck.

“You could shoot really hard. It didn’t hurt anybody,” Ruff quipped. “I didn’t patent it, but I think I should have.”

Islanders co-owner Jon Ledecky grew up in New York City and played roller hockey with his brother.

“So just being outside and watching a hockey game is going to bring back a flood of memories for my family and for me,” he said.

Growing up in Montreal, Brodeur was a regular at Parc Ferland after finishing his homework.

“We played hockey till dinner time,” the NHL’s all-time winningest goaltender said. “And sometimes, if I was good enough, I was able to go back after dinner.”

Whatever happens this weekend, it’s a memory most players won’t forget. Vegas Golden Knights forward enjoyed the experience on Jan. 1 despite losing to Seattle 3-0.

Vegas forward Keegan Kolesar called the game hectic but historic.

“It was just something that I’ll carry for the rest of my life,” he said.

The event Saturday will feature a pre-game concert by the Jonas Brothers, plus a fan festival during the weekend.

“We need to make sure that every person that walks in that building leaves and says: ‘Wow, that was one of the greatest sporting events I’ve ever been at,’” said NHL executive vice president Steve Mayer. “The same for those on TV.”

The 2026 World Cup final will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, beating out Texas and California for soccer’s showcase game.

FIFA awarded the July 19 championship to the $1.6 billion venue, which opened in 2010, the culminating match of an expanded 48-nation, 104-game tournament that will be spread across three nations for the first time.

Located about 10 miles from Manhattan, MetLife was promoted by both New York and New Jersey, where the stadium was built in the Meadowlands marshes. The land of Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Frank Sinatra will be the focal point of the globe on that Sunday, when either Lionel Messi’s Argentina will try to win its second straight title or a successor will emerge.

“It will be a celebration of our diversity and our values,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said in a telephone interview. “The bigger picture is what leads up to it and what we leave behind for the decades to come.”

FIFA made the announcement Sunday at a Miami television studio, allocating the opener of the 39-day tournament to Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on June 11 and the finale to the home of the NFL’s New York Jets and Giants.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had lobbied for the final to be at his AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“The competition was dealing with the perception of the coastal, of a New York, or a Los Angeles,” he said. “If this were totally being played to just America and the United States, that wouldn’t have been such a formidable thing to overcome. But internationally, that’s formidable to overcome.”

All games from the quarterfinals on are being played in the United States. Semifinals are on July 14 at AT&T and the following day at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Quarterfinals are at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 9, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the following day, and at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on July 11. The third-place game will be at Hard Rock on July 18.

The U.S. team will train in suburban Atlanta ahead of the tournament and open at SoFi on June 12. The Americans play seven days later at Seattle’s Lumen Field and finish the group stage at SoFi on June 25.

Since reaching the semifinals of the first World Cup in 1930, the U.S. has advanced to the quarterfinals just once, in 2002.

“It’s about making our nation proud,” American coach Gregg Berhalter said. “One way to really grow the game and to change soccer in America forever is to perform well and do something that no U.S. team has ever done before.”

Seventy-eight of 104 matches will be played in the U.S., with 13 games each in Mexico and Canada, and there as many as six matches a day.

AT&T will host a tournament-high nine matches. There will be eight each at MetLife, SoFi and Mercedes Benz; seven apiece at Hard Rock, Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and NRG Stadium in Houston; and six apiece at Lumen, Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

FIFA officials did not publicly explain their site-decision process.

Philadelphia’s final match will be a round-of-16 meeting on July 4, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park hosts baseball’s All-Star Game, likely on July 14.

Santa Clara is the only U.S. site that will not host a game after the new round of 32. AT&T will host two round-of-32 matches.

FIFA expanded the World Cup from 32 to 48 nations, increased matches from 64 and announced the 16 sites in 2022.

Murphy learned of the decision while at a watch party in a MetLife Stadium suite. He was not discouraged by a British tabloid report on Jan. 17 that said the final would be at AT&T.

“We did everything we could to put our head downs, focus on the job at hand, kind of push out the noise, and that turned out to be a winning formula,” Murphy said.

Mexico will play its second match at Guadalajara’s Estadio Akron on June 18 and return to Azteca on June 24. Mexico City will host five matches, with four each at Monterrey’s Estadio BBVA and Guadalajara.

Canada will play its opening first-round match in Toronto on June 12, then at B.C. Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, on June 18 and 24. Each Canada venue will host 13 games.

A nation will need to play eight matches to win the title, up from seven since 1982.

All 11 of the U.S. stadiums are home to NFL teams. Hard Rock will host this year’s Copa América final on July 14, while MetLife was the site of the 2016 Copa América final.

Both the 1970 and 1986 World Cup finals were at Azteca.

When the U.S. hosted the 24-nation, 52-game tournament in 1994, the final was at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, the opener at Chicago’s Soldier Field and the semifinals at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford and the Rose Bowl.

With the additional teams, the length of the tournament will grow from 29 days in the shortened 2022 schedule in Qatar and 32 days for the 2018 tournament in Russia.

Only one match will involve a team that has not had at least three off days. FIFA divided the group stage into East, Central and West regions and intended to make travel shorter for group winners.

The stadiums in Arlington, Atlanta and Houston have retractable roofs that are expected to be closed because of summer heat, and Inglewood and Vancouver have fixed roofs.

Artificial turf will be replaced by grass in Arlington, Atlanta, East Rutherford, Foxborough, Houston, Inglewood, Seattle and Vancouver.

Several of the venues are expected to widen their surfaces to accommodate a 75-by-115 yard (68-by-105 meter) playing field, including AT&T, MetLife and SoFi.
